Happy Friday!
What a beautiful morning for run! I’m tackling my second-to-last long run (12 miles) before the marathon. Hopefully, it seems like a piece of cake after last weekend’s 20-miler.
Dinner
Mal and I are cooking up a storm lately! I don’t know what’s gotten into us? We’re all about trying new recipes and cooking ”˜real’ meals for dinner. Over the summer, we got into the habit of eating whatever was convenient, like cereal or boxed mac & cheese, which are totally fine on occasion, but I’m glad that we got out of our cooking rut.
Last night’s dinner was Turkey Meatloaf with roasted red potatoes and steamed spinach. The photo that accompanied the recipe in our cookbook looked amazingly delicious:
However, the end result did not. Between the not-so-great lighting in my house and brownness of the meatloaf, I just couldn’t get a good shot of my dinner.
But, I promise you it was a delicious dinner. Mal and I practically licked our plates clean.
Breakfast
I don’t know what I was thinking when I made my breakfast this morning. I totally forgot about my long run and didn’t make my usual peanut butter and banana on whole wheat. Hopefully, this meal sits well for 12 miles!
In the mix: yogurt, banana slices, and diced Oatmeal Pumpkin Bread.
Dog Costumes
A reader sent me an email with these hilarious dog costumes in it the other day. The link includes all sort of doggie costumes”” from simple and fun to ornate and bizarre, there’s a little bit of everything.
Question of the Day
What do you think about costumes on pets? Do you dress your pet in them?
P.S. I’m hosting a giveaway on Trading Up Downtown to win two jars of Biscoff Spread!
I <3 dogs in costumes!
Meatloaf is one of those foods that I hated as a kid, but I totally crave it now. I’ve never tried making one for myself though. I can’t wait to try out this recipe!
Bahaha that Yoda costume is hilarious!
omg. that picture totally cracked me up! i love pets in costumes! my dog has a few!
The bread on that oatmeal looks AMAZING!
That pug is adorable. I think pet costumes are the greatest!
Yes, I dress my dogs up! My boy Sampson is a hot dog and my girl Samantha is a Pumpkin! My boy loves to wear his costume, but my girl doesn’t like hers!!
My husband just burst out laughing when he saw the picture and shouted “Pugoda!!” and he’s usually not too easily entertained….
as for pets in costumes? Any pet I’ve had looks at me with the deepest loathing about putting on a costume. Now living in S.Korea tho, you wouldn’t believe all the dogs that wear SHOES here…seriously. To protect their paws? Fashion statement? we don’t know yet…
Haha love the yoda costume! I tried putting a witches hat on my cats the other day. None of them would tolerate such silliness. Cats are such drama queens.
