Hi, friends! Happy Monday!

We tackled a few new project this past weekend, but the majority of our house is still in shambles. GAH! Boxes everywhere. When will the unpacking madness end!? However, Quinn’s playroom is coming along nicely. We still need to hang curtains and a few more things on the walls (we want to make an epic collage wall), but we finally have a place for all of his toys and books, so at least we’re getting organized!

When Minted reached out about working together, I knew that I wanted to pick something special for Quinn’s playroom to really make it his own. I immediately loved their children’s room signs and thought one would perfect for his room. Minted has so many amazing and adorable designs, it was actually sort of tough to choose! Related: Did you know that Minted‘s designs and art are sourced from their community of independent artists through design competitions? How cool is that?

Dragon Breath Room Decor Signs

I eventually decided on the shark bait room sign in teal (it also comes in yellow and orange). It’s printed on TripleThick paper and includes a hanging ribbon that you can adjust accordingly to your needs.

The room signs from Minted are also priced right at just $16, so they’re an affordable addition to any kid’s room as well as a wonderful gift for a birthday or back-to-school. That said, here are some ideas for personalized gifts from the Minted baby & kids collection for the special little someone in your life.

  1. I’m getting married next year and already have some designs saved on minted. Would love something to put towards that!

  2. I used Minted for our Christmas cards last year! They are a bit pricey but have this cool postcard option for cards and invitations. The product itself is a little less per unit AND you can buy the less expensive postcard stamps to mail them. A win/win and they are such great quality. I highly recommend Minted!

  3. We are in the process of redoing my 9 year old son’s room right now (oy!) and we could definitely use some new wall hangings.

  4. I love their products. My fiancé and I are picking out invites and have found some on their products for our special day.

  5. I just thought I would share a little ‘food for thought’ regarding Minted’s practice of sourcing their designs through competitions. In the graphic design industry this is called ‘speculative work’ and it is highly frowned upon. Speculative work means that a designer is asked to submit a design (depending on the project this could take a few hours to many many hours to complete) but the designer is only paid for their work if it is chosen to be the winner of the competition. Some competitions have multiple winners, but with every competition there would be many people that are in no way subsidized for their creative work. A company does design competitions as a way of receiving lots of design without having to pay for it, and the prizes that are offered up for winning the competition is a fraction of what a registered graphic designer would be paid to complete similar work. Often it is students, eager to make a name for themselves, or to provide for themselves that do this type of work and it is straight up Exploitation. I believe that everyones time has value, and that you will get what you pay for. Here is a link should you be interested in learning a little more:

I’m glad to know that Minted practices this way as I will NOT be supporting their business in the future.
