This papaya chia seed jam, made with just 5 ingredients, adds a tropical twist to toast, oats, and more! Vegan and gluten-free.

I have a sweet recipe for you all today with the main ingredient being one that doesn’t show up here all too often… papaya! I don’t know why I don’t purchase and enjoy this tropical fruit more often because it’s truly delicious. Not only is it sweet and unique in flavor, but it’s also chockfull of fiber, vitamin C, and aids in digestion as it contains an enzyme called papain that breaks down protein.

This recipe is super easy to make (you just throw all the ingredients in a blender or food processor), and it doesn’t require any cooking — the best kind of summer recipe. Unlike regular jams and jellies that typically have a lot of added sugar, this recipe is sweetened with pineapple juice and agave. Plus, not only do the chia seeds bind the jam together, but they also add healthy Omega-3 fats, protein, and fiber.
