Phew.
That was a lot of work! Our place is in complete and utter shambles, but we are packed and ready to go for the big move tomorrow.
Mal and I just spent the last 5 hours packing 90% of the crap stuff in our apartment. We ran out of boxes, so we’ll just have to wing-it with the last 10%.
Apparently, I have a lot of shoes. They filled up an entire suitcase!
Mal and Murphy were hard at work all night. 😆
We are even ready to go on the breakfast front. I made sure not to pack the ingredients for banana oatmeal with nut butter. Moving is tough work– I need start my day off on the right foot! 😉
The movers will be here bright and early. Time to hit the hay! I can’t believe tonight is our last night in Southie!
Ask Me Anything
Keep ’em coming: Ask Me Anything!
Do you and Mal split the household chores (cleaning, laundry, etc.) evenly? If so, how do you decide who does what?
Yep! We split all of the household chores 50/50. We both prefer different tasks over others, so we do the ones that we “like.” For instance, I don’t really mind doing the laundry, so I do most of it. Mal, on the other hand, volunteers to take out the trash and clean the tub, which are things that I don’t really like to do. For bigger” chores like grocery shopping and walking Murphy, we share the responsibility evenly.
Can you explain why you suggest having a separate checking account than one’s spouse?
Mal and I never fight about money. We have a joint checking and savings account, but we also have our own accounts to buy whatever we want. It works for us– and in 4 years of living together, we’ve never once fought about money.
What makeup do you put on your face? Do you wear any foundation?
I use Sephora Tinted Moisturizer and bareMinerals. Check out my 5-Minute Face post for more details.
What happened to your hip? How are you dealing with your injury?
Check my FAQs under the Fitness heading.
Do you or Mal have Boston accents? Mark Wahlberg style?
Nope, neither of us have a Boston accent. But, I do say “wicked” every once in awhile! 😉

Good luck on your move!
I do have a question, though: what made you want to keep blogging about your food after losing your goal weight? What was the motivation?
Happy moving tomorrow!!! I hope everything goes smoothly. New APT–exciting stuff!
Mark Whalberg style!
Good luck with the move!!
I hope everything goes smoothly with moving! That’s funny, I’ve never pictured you and Mal having boston accents 🙂
Love the question about Mark Wahlberg style Boston accents. 🙂
Good luck on your move tomorrow!
Hope the snow stops soon!
I am from Boston and abuse the term “wicked”
That is some wicked quick packing! 😉
Good luck tomorrow! Love that you kept the essentials out (oatmeal supplies!)
I can’t believe you had house guests before your big move – what champs. I would have been a wreck. Is your last night in Southie at all bittersweet?
Ugh, I’m moving in a few months and NOT looking forward to it. I’ll have to remember to leave out my breakfast!
Good luck tomorrow! Moving sucks, but you look pretty organised :).
Good luck with your move tomorrow!
happy moving! sounds like you have everything organized and i’m glad you have some movers.
good luck with themove! you got your priorities right with the oats ready 😉
Separate accounts are wicked awesome, for real.
Have a smooth move in day!! That’s exciting!
Oh you must be so relieved to get all that packing done – and be so excited!!! I hope moving day goes to plan (and so do your banana oats more importantly :p) – it all seems to have gone so fast! Good luck!
I’m moving soon & this post has reminded me of the horror to look forward too. I’m nervous now.
Best of luck with moving & have fun unpacking everything. The unpacking is the best, setting up your new place.
Love the breakfast goodies kept out! And well done for finding boxes for 90% of your stuff – I used to work in a bookstore and we constantly had frazzled people begging us for the boxes our books came in!
Good luck with the move today!
Good luck with the move!
Good luck with your move! I’m sure you are excited to set up your new place. Moving is always a hassle, but a new place to live is exciting, too!
Good luck with the move! We had movers last time and it made the whole experience so much better.
Job well done! 😉 Moving is no fun but once you’re settled, it’ll all be worth it. I know I’m not telling you anything you don’t know, but sometimes when we’re in the middle of the mess of moving, we lose sight of the goal. 🙂 tehe. Have a good day!
Good luck with your move, T!
Good luck with the big move!!
I’m so impressed with your moving skills! When we recently moved…it was an absolute disaster. Most of our stuff wasn’t even ready for the movers! Never again will we be that disorganized. 🙂
Hope all goes well today!
Wow, good luck with the move! Didn’t know you were moving so soon.
My husband and I also split out chores, Basically. He does laundry, I do dishes. He also cooks a lot! We have seperate checking accounts too, and I completely agree that it’s a wonderful idea 🙂
Good luck with the move!!!! And don’t feel bad– I think my shoes wouldn’t even fit in a suitcase!!
Good luck with the move tomorrow!
I’m also a bareMinerals girl. Love that stuff!
good luck with your move. that seemed to come quickly I love the questions you’ve been answering! I say wicked a little too much and I am from Michigan… with moving to PA people are wondering what my mixed accent deal is.
Looks like you guys are ready to go! Adam and I have the same money arrangement – joint account for bills + separate personal accounts for fun stuff. It really works great. We never ever fight about money and I think that’s one of the most common things couple usually fight about.
Murphy looks unimpressed with Mal’s antics! 😉
HAHA loved the question referencing Marky Mark!
Loooove the picture of Mal and the dog……his eyes are bugging out! Too cute!

I don’t know if those photos of the trash in South Boston are recent but you must live in my area because those darn yellow menus have been blowing around on the sidewalk all week long.
