Today has been full of packing… and more packing.

I woke up bright and early with my husband, ate breakfast with him, and then got right down to business packing boxes. I made a serious dent, but I still have a lot to do. At least I’m making progress! šŸ˜€

After breakfast, I went to Body Pump, which was my first workout since Saturday’s 12-mile run. All of a sudden my marathon motivation is starting to really wane. Maybe it’s because my attention is elsewhere? I can’t seem to motivate myself to train for a marathonĀ and move into a new house. My brain is at capacity!! Hopefully, my motivation comes back very soon because I’m planning to run 16 miles by myself tomorrow morning. Oh, boy.

Lunch

For lunch, I roasted some brussels sprouts with olive oil and Garlic Gold and reheated the leftover Pumpkin Dumplings from yesterday.

I melted a little bit of butter and sprinkled some grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Now that we are without a dining room table, Murphy seems to enjoy getting up close and personal with my food!

After lunch, I whipped up a batch of Butterscotch Chip Cookies from a recipe in Buddy Valastro’s new book:Ā Cake Boss: Stories and Recipes from Mia Famiglia. (The nice people from TLC sent it to me last week!) Buddy used chocolate chips in his cookies, but I went with butterscotch chips instead. Personally, I think butterscotch is the way to go when it comes to cookies! These babies taste SO delicious!!

    You seem to have a lot going on, and it’s only natural to loose a little motivation for training. I hope your run goes well tomorrow. It might be hard to start, but it might end with you feeling great and energized!

    i know what you mean on not wanting to run! that always happens when i’m super busy… but you will feel SO accomplished once you are done!!! šŸ˜‰ remind yourself that and run on!

  3. i’d rather be… home on the pilates mat. the lupus is making me really stiff today, and i can’t get going at work!

    i’ve got a bag of frozen brussel sprouts in the freezer… i want them so badly, but LA just got HOT!

  4. Honestly, I think you can only focus on so many priorities at one time! I usually make exercise a very high priority, but in the past few weeks, it’s dropped, and that’t okay. Next week it will probably be a big focus again. But there are only so many things we can be great at in any given day or week!

    You are moving, and it’s kind of a big deal.

  5. I definitely started feeling that way during my marathon training. In the middle of training I moved to a new city and started grad school, it was a lot to take.

    I’d rather be on a beach with my family. šŸ™‚

    And I bet you will find a spark before your run tomorrow. That always seems to happen to me. The things I’m not sure how I will get motivation for end up being blown out of the water.

  7. I think butterscotch is the way to go when it comes to EVERYTHING – I can’t get enough of it! Your lunch looks uber tasty. My motivation for my first marathon ran a little low in the weeks running up to it – I just wanted to get ‘er done and be finished! But I took a week off of running (and did cross training and spin instead) and was excited again just before the event. I’m sure you’ll be fine!

  8. I’m never motivated to do any kind of workout until halfway through and then I start feeling great and don’t want to stop!

    I’d rather be…. done with school already! 7 more weeks and I’m DONE!

  9. I’d rather be on vacation with a tropical drink in my hand! I’ve had it with training at this point to, all my long runs have been alone and it’s getting old.

  10. Your lunch looks just perfect to me! I love roasted brussel sprouts, and haven’t had them in about month…so now I’ve got a crave!

  12. I’d rather be in the NORTHEAST šŸ™‚ Currently, my husband and I live in the beautiful PACIFIC NORTHWEST due to his military career. I grew up in New York State and truly miss this time of year. Plus, I love social events that EMPOWER women šŸ™‚

  13. What you described is EXACTLY why I took a break from training until next year. Having sold our house and bought a new one (a process that started in March and finished in August and included a couple different moves), I knew that I didn’t have the “mental head space” to both move and train, while working full-time and trying to maintain a social life.
    I think a lot of people forget that running and training isn’t just about physical ability. A HUGE part is mental. I find the energy I dedicate to thinking about my nutrition, planning out my runs, and focusing on my training takes a lot out of me, beyond the running itself.

  15. LunaFest is awesome! I’ve gone multiple years and the films are truly fantastic.

    Today I would rather be sipping coffee and chatting with my mom.

  16. I’d rather be enjoying a slice of cookie dough cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory than working on my research paper proposal! That cheesecake can seriously turn a bad day into a good one. Chunks of cookie dough surrounded my fluffy cheesecake? Yes please šŸ™‚ Those butterscotch chip cookies look delicious. I love watching Cake Boss! I had no idea that Buddy had a cookbook. I definitely need to get myself one of those!

  17. I just had to comment and say that I’m having the exact same issues with GoDaddy that you had earlier in the year. I have never been so angry in my life and now can understand what you were going through. I say we start a huge anti-GoDaddy movement.
