Today has been full of packing… and more packing.
I woke up bright and early with my husband, ate breakfast with him, and then got right down to business packing boxes. I made a serious dent, but I still have a lot to do. At least I’m making progress! 😀
After breakfast, I went to Body Pump, which was my first workout since Saturday’s 12-mile run. All of a sudden my marathon motivation is starting to really wane. Maybe it’s because my attention is elsewhere? I can’t seem to motivate myself to train for a marathon and move into a new house. My brain is at capacity!! Hopefully, my motivation comes back very soon because I’m planning to run 16 miles by myself tomorrow morning. Oh, boy.
For lunch, I roasted some brussels sprouts with olive oil and Garlic Gold and reheated the leftover Pumpkin Dumplings from yesterday.
I melted a little bit of butter and sprinkled some grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Now that we are without a dining room table, Murphy seems to enjoy getting up close and personal with my food!
After lunch, I whipped up a batch of Butterscotch Chip Cookies from a recipe in Buddy Valastro’s new book: Cake Boss: Stories and Recipes from Mia Famiglia. (The nice people from TLC sent it to me last week!) Buddy used chocolate chips in his cookies, but I went with butterscotch chips instead. Personally, I think butterscotch is the way to go when it comes to cookies! These babies taste SO delicious!!
Feel Great Weight
For this week’s Feel Great Weight post, I wrote about my favorite nutritious and budget-friendly foods and how I like to enjoy them: How to Eat Healthy Without Breaking the Bank.
Here’s a great event for the locals!!
LUNAFEST is a traveling film festival – by, for, about women – dedicated to building community, through the power of film”¦through the power of story. You can see the trailer here.
Established in 2000, LUNAFEST promotes women filmmakers, raises awareness for women’s issues and supports women’s nonprofit organizations. To date, LUNAFEST has raised over $570,000 for local women’s community nonprofit organizations and over $360,000 for the Breast Cancer Fund.
Here’s your chance to win two tickets to the LUNAFEST Boston Premiere at the Liberty Hotel next week! 😀

Question of the Day
Finish this sentence:
I’d rather be…
P.S. I’m hosting a bar giveaway over on Trading Up Downtown! 😀
I’d rather be back in Italy eating pizza and drinking beer!
single than married to the wrong person
Eating on top of boxes..it’s like how my parents always described their college experiences 😛
I rather be… not waiting for class to start and instead doing something fun outside in our strange 80 degree weather.
I’d rather be the one cooking than being cooked for!
PS. Have you heard of or seen those Clover Food Trucks in Boston?
I’d rather be where I am now (onto my third Uni course) than doing the wrong course 4 years ago and taking the wrong path in life! Gotta love Bachelor of Exercise Sports and Sciences 🙂
I love your blogs Tina! They have inspired me so much… this past week I have been making more of an effort to make food that are wholesome and healthy with lots of fresh ingredients. My partner is loving the fact that I’ve taken over the kitchen 😀
Keep the blogs coming, I read them everyday! (With the company of my own signature breakfast… tea with skim milk and a piece of wholemeal toast with crunchy peanut butter and honey hehe)
You know, I am having one of those days where I realize that being where I am is good – no matter where that is.
Argh I completely know what you mean! We are finalising the contruction of our new house and have to move in soon – that, combined with half ironman training and a full time job = one brain that is at capacity!!!
I’d rather be…in Las Vegas than at work!
Good boy Murphy!!!!
@Leslie: No, I haven’t. What are they?
I’d rather be at home with my puppy Charlie 🙁
I’d rather be running around Forest Park here in STL than studying for a microbiology exam.
For me today… it’s more like, I’d rather NOT be taking my husband to the airport in a 1/2 hour 🙁
You had time and motivation to back cookies, I’m impressed.
I like that even though you are super busy, you find time to bake cookies!
you are amazing, tina – baking in the midst of all of this!
I’d rather be…healthy. I’ve been sick for a week 🙁
Your ability to still make cookies in the midst of a huge move is amazing!
you can always run 16 with Meghann and I on Sunday in Sanfran!
I’d rather be on a sunny island with a book in one hand and a fruity drink in the other. My motivation starts to wane at this point in the school year. How long until winter break????
Aw, butterscotch chips don’t even exist in Australia! No fairsies! 😛 Good luck with the rest of the packing!
wow, 16 miles? good luck!!
