Good morning, friends! How was your Hump Day! We had a great one over here…
It started with FlapJacked Protein Pancakes topped with sliced banana and maple syrup.
And then I did a tough workout (from CrossFit Back Bay) at KFIT. My shoulders were en fuego!
Then, Quinn and I drank smoothies together. His was mango + banana + vanilla yogurt.
Mine was banana + vanilla yogurt + iced coffee + vanilla protein powder. Please note our little Houdini running by me after he successfully removed the child safety lock from the cabinet under the sink. He’s quick! I think his proud little smile says it all. (Clearly, we need to up our child-proofing game.)
Shortly after that, my sister and nephew arrived at our house. It was a gorgeous day outside (not 8,000 degrees with 150% humidity), so we took the boys for a walk to the nearby playground.
Ready to roll… or something like that. Neither of them look very impressed. Haha!
We actually had an awesome time at the playground. Matthew saw a huge tanker truck, and Quinn loved swinging on the swings. He was laughing SO HARD. It was adorable.
Side note: I know Quinn looks a lot like Mal, but the photo below is basically Mal’s face on a toddler. #facetwins
After our walk, we hopped in the car to grab lunch at Whole Foods.
We ate lunch outside (minus Quinn – he napped) and played with “Crazy Uncle Mal” for awhile before my sister and nephew headed home.
When Quinn woke up from his nap, we took a walk to the post office to mail my Clean Out bag from ThredUp. (I didn’t end up doing a capsule wardrobe, but I got rid of A LOT of clothing, and, wow, it felt good!)
When we got home, I was really hungry, so I make a quick a snack, which was quite delicious for a just-add-water product. Mmm!
A few hours later, I headed out (solo this time) to grab dinner at Whole Foods for Mal and me. I got him a sandwich, and I went with the hot bar again + a chocolate chip cookie. I also may or may not have purchased us a bottle of wine. Boom.
The end.
Question of the Day
Moms: What funny thing has your kid done when you weren’t looking?
How often do you drink smoothies?
How often do you shop at Whole Foods?

We are moving next week and I have filled up another Thred Up bag as well. Love the feeling of getting rid of old things and making way for new!
I have to drive 45 minutes into Orlando to get to my closest Whole Foods. It’s probably easier in my budget that I don’t have one close by.
Love the boys in the strollers- not impressed. haha. My son rolls from one side of the room to another in the blink of an eye, but only when I turn my head for two seconds. When I watch, he won’t do it. Sneaky, sneaky!
I closest Whole Foods to me is over an hour away…it’s a sad, sad thing!
I wonder how long Quinn was plotting his move? You know he must have been plotting that!
Oh boy, Quinn’s gonna be a handful! My son learned how to unhook one of our cabinets too, but thankfully he has yet to do it again!
I’ve just requested my first Thred Up bag! Looking forward to passing on some items and possibly getting some loot!
I shop at Wholefoods maybe once a month. I stock up on frozen items for our little guy. (love the mini frozen meatballs and frozen veggies/fruit) Plus I end up spending more than I should because I love everything there! I especially have a hard time passing up bakery items, specifically their cupcakes! We ordered our son’s Baptism cake there as well and it did not disappoint!
Hi!! What type of sippy cup is that? Looks like the straw is not terrible difficult to suck from???
Thanks!!!
It’s a Lollicup! Quinn loves it!!
@Tina: Thank you! Totally going to give it a try!
Matilda is lightening quick at stealing our food when we are eating. In fact, this morning she stuck her fork in my smoothie and made a HUGE mess.
When my husband and I get ready in the morning, our little guy crawls around and plays on our bedroom floor. He’s realllllly interested in cords and cables, so I pushed them under the bed and put a pillow in front of them. He crawled around the pillow, under the bed, and only his feet were visible while he pulled on the chargers. I dragged him out by his toes and he was cracking up.
I can’t get over how much your nephew looks like your mother! Such a resemblance!
I went to Whole Foods for the first time EVER last week. I got the salad bar and it’s just as good as everyone says! I think I’m going to have to go again sometime soon. Definitely worth the wait!
I’m not really a smoothie person until the summer–then I have one a few times a week.
Whole Foods hot bar twice in one day…not so bad! I used to shop there every weekend for groceries, but I’ve since switched over to Trader Joe’s to save some cash. But I still pop in a few times a month to get takeout (hot bar or sushi), snacks, a kombucha, or different items I can’t get elsewhere.
Just ordered my ThreadUp clean out bag. Super excited about this. How much will a bag hold? (I just realized they take shoes)
Quite a lot. It’s like the size of a small/medium trash bag.
I make smoothies a couple times a week. So refreshing during the hot summer months!
I don’t go to Whole Foods that often, but I just went Tuesday and remembered how much I love it!
I eat smoothies at least once a day. I absolutely love how refreshing they are after a hot run, and are perfectly satisfying for a mid day snack. I will usually add nut butter of some sort for staying power. I do all my shopping at Whole Foods – super convenient since it’s directly across the street from my work!
I’ve used Thredup, Twice and Threadflip. I think Twice has actually been the most efficient for me – it paid out more than Thredup, but they just do an upfront exchange instead of acting as consignors like Threadflip!
That’s good to know!!
I love Whole Foods but I only grab a few specialty items there every few weeks or so because it’s too pricy for me. I like walking there on my lunch break every once in awhile too.
mmmm those smoothies you made sound good! I made one today for breakfast and it was so goooood 🙂 way more exciting than cereal, haha
My daughter is getting into EVERYTHING these days ha! It is crazy! Good thing they’re cute 😉
Saw you walk by with your thread up bag! Stop in Mass Tire if your car ever needs service or tires ask for my hubby Kevin he is the owner!
That’s awesome!
I go to Wholefoods so much, I swear the staff are like family, lol…Very lucky I have two within walking distance. <3
Me too! I’m there allllllll the time!
I have not had a smoothie in well over a year and happened to find a couple random bags of frozen mango and pineapple with very little in them as I was organizing the freezer pull out drawers so I made a smoothie this week to use it up. It was SO good and then I wonder why I don’t make them. Lazy I guess. Whole Foods…..never. Sad. The closest one to me is hours and a state away.
What kind of straw cup is Quinn using for his smoothie? The straw looks big. Perfect for kiddie smoothies 🙂
It’s a Lollacup!
