Our last morning in Newport was a really nice one. Mal and I woke up early with Quinn and took him for a stroll downtown. We were in search of iced coffee and wanted to try a new place, so we just walked and talked and wandered around until we found one.
It actually didn’t take us long because we stumbled upon the Coffee Grinder. It was actually hidden away behind a building on the water, but I saw a sign that said “Coffee Roasters” and suggested that we walk in that direction to check in out.
Coffee Grinder was an adorable little cafe. It wasn’t much bigger than a counter top with a condiment/milk bar, but it had outdoor seating right on the water, so I ordered us a couple of iced coffees and a piece of lemon loaf to share. Mal, Quinn, and I hung out for about 30 minutes before we headed back to the condo. It was such a nice way to enjoy our last morning in Newport (until next year).
Mimi and Papi were awake when we got back and we were all starving, so we went to Ocean Breeze Cafe for breakfast. I ordered two eggs with home fries and an English muffin on the side. I thought about ordering one of the enormous, dessert-like muffins (because they’re just soooo delicious), but I figured I should probably hold off because I ate a lot of treats while I was in Newport. It was a ton of fun eating and drinking my face off, but it was time to get back on track.
I can’t believe our weekend in Newport is over. It was an awesome one, and I’m already looking forward to next year!
Question of the Day
On a scale of 1-10 (1 being super unhealthy, 10 being super healthy), how healthy do you eat on vacation?
I’m usually an 8 or so, but this vacation was like a 5! Haha!
