I’m the owner of Carrots β€˜N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

When it comes to food, Murphy is a genius. He obeys my every command.



Come on, Mom! Say ‘okay’ already!!


As soon as I say ‘okay,’ Murphy “pug rockets” right to the treat and eats it up, but not a second sooner. He’s very well behaved around food. Maybe I could learn something from him? πŸ˜‰


I kept lunch simple this afternoon: cucumber slices with sea salt.


And a ham and cheese sandwich with tomato, basil, and mayo on toasted whole wheat bread.


Plus H20!


I finished off lunch with a Chocolate Chip Brownie Larabar, which was tasty, but not nearly as amazing as the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor. I’m on a mission to find them in New York City. I bet that big Whole Foods in Union Square has them.

BlogHer ’10

So, I’m visiting NYC for two reasons: vacation with my husband (he’s meeting me in the city on Saturday) and attend BlogHer, which I am really excited about.Β It’s my first ever and I’ve heard it’s quite the event. I’ve been told to “prepare to be overwhelmed.” Oh boy!

  1. I love cucumber slices. Just on their own or with a bit of hummus. I don’t understand why people like salt, but hey, to each their own!

  2. Teehee, my dog is exactly the same!! Except her ‘go ahead’ command isn’t “okay” but “MUNCH!” Murphy is far crazier looking in the eyes, though, which I think makes him cuter πŸ˜‰

  3. Have a safe trip! Will you be meeting Caitlin? She’s in NYC for the filming of the Today Show for her OB book! I hope you guys do meet, it’ll be awesome!


  4. Whole foods in Dedham has all the new larabar flavors. Peanut butter chocolate chip is my fave!!! The only one I haven’t tried yet is carrot cake but its sitting in the drawer of my desk and will be my afternoon snack tomorrow! πŸ™‚
