Wow, it was tough getting out of bed this morning. My body is just exhausted. I hope that I’m not getting sick. :-?I rarely ever get sick, but when I do, it’s bad. Let’s hope it’s not that!

Breakfast

After struggling to get out of bed, I made the most delicious batch of “Instant” Baked Oatmeal with maple brown sugar oatmeal, carob soy milk, ground flaxseed meal, and Wild Berry Trail Mix. I topped my oatmeal with 2 scoops of Barney Butter. Sooo good!

I also had a glass of iced coffee with breakfast.

Yesterday, I received a bunch of photos taken by the professional photographer at the event. You can check them out here. There’s lots of Kelly!

Feel Great Weight

My newest post on Health.com is a progress update about my Lose the Dough challenge. I write about overeating when I am alone at home. It’s been a struggle lately for me.

My Dessert Problem: Do You Overeat When You’re Alone?

And, be sure to check out some of my favorite products: Canon Powershot S90 (works great in low lighting!), Garmin Forerunner 305, and, of course, the MyPressi Twist. My Sea-Life Plates are in there, too!

Question of the Day

Have you ever met a celebrity? If so, who was it and what were they like in person?

  1. A few years ago Daryl Hammond (from SNL) sat across from me in a NYC diner. I think that was my closest brush with fame. Andddd I totally understand about overeating while home alone. I do that all the time. I think because I’m lonely and bored!

  2. I didn’t really meet him (thank goodness!) but I saw Flava Flav in an airport a few years ago. Clocks and all. I kept my distance. 🙂

  3. I have seen a few but haven’t met any. 🙂

Your article on eating alone really struck a cord with me. I actually was planning on writing today about emotional eating. It is amazing how many of us struggle with different forms of eating that has very little to do with being hungry, isn’t it?

  4. I’ve met a couple….more recently it was chef, Curtis Stone. He was at a celebrity food & wine event that I attended (he’s gorgeous!)

I’ve also met Carrot Top (ho hum) and Kenny Chesney (although, it was before he was really famous and I barley knew who he was!).

  5. I’ve met Mark McGrath, from Sugar Ray. Super sweet, very polite guy. I was hanging out on the tabloid TV set “Extra”, and he was the host at the time. Really cool. I’ve met the guys from Phantom Planet and the musician Ben Lee, they were really great. I met Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, and I worked with Hanson on a music video set as well. They were funny. 🙂

  6. It was impossible to get up this morning! At least tomorrow’s Friday.

I met Sarah Jessica Parker and turned into a speechless blob. She’s my idol, so it was ridiculous. I wish I would have said something more than “Thank you SO much.” I said it, like, 15 times.

  7. I wouldn’t worry too much about being sick. Traveling makes me feel that way, too. Working out actually makes me feel a lot better. Even if you don’t have the energy for a full workout, doing just twenty minutes of light cardio makes a world of difference!

  8. i’ve met ellen degeneres, chris brown (back in the days when he was still cool), zac efron, chase crawford, katherine heigl, and a few others. my main mission in life is to meet jennifer aniston!

  9. Your Health article is something I really needed because I struggle with the same issue. In fact, I would think that most women do. We’re so good at practicing moderation when we’re around others, but when it’s just us, our stress, and dessert…the result is inevitable! And maybe it’s just me, but I find those temptations even *more* strong when I’m trying to shape up and “Lose the Dough.” So thanks for the advice, it really is helpful =)

  10. back in my higher-profile modeling days, I met Jay-Z, Beyonce, R. Kelley and the Olsen Twins

When I was younger, I met Jamie Lee Curtis and Jennifer Love Hewitt — shooting a film togther (House Arrest – it’s a TERRIBLE movie, but was a lot of fun!)

  11. It looks like you had a great time in NYC! Conan O’Brien has a house in my Connecticut hometown, so I used to see him in the grocery store all the time! Yes, his hair really does always look like that =)

  12. I finally made baked oats this morning — it was like pumpkin pie for breakfast. 😀

I had lunch with Rider Strong (Boy Meets World) and Larisa Oleynik (10 Things I Hate About You) once. Oh, 80s stars! They were both really nice though.

I also ran into Jennifer Love Hewitt at a hotel in LA years ago and surprise, surprise, she was actually an amazingly nice person. I’m not a fan but she talked to, took pictures with and signed autographs for everyone who wanted them.

  13. Wow! That was a great article about overindulging at home alone! I felt like the words were coming straight out of my mouth. Ever since my husband deployed, I may have been overdoing it at home with the sweets. No one is here to watch me go back for 2nds and even 3rds (like you said!). I had this realization a few days ago while sulking in my bed with pneumonia. I need to start eating healthy again! My body can’t handle all the sweets I’m giving it! So, thanks for a little extra motivation! It’s nice to know that I’m not alone!! 🙂

  14. I had dinner with Amy Roloff from Little People, Big World….so kind of famous! She was speaking at an awards event I was part of. She was very nice and sweet.

I definitely overeat when I’m alone. People always say “you always eat so healthy” and I just say “you don’t see what I eat when you’re not around!”.

  15. I always over eat when I’m home alone. Almost to the point where I don’t want to be left home alone because I’m afraid I’ll over eat!

Sometimes I say to myself: “Would I want someone to see me eating this right now?” That helps quite a bit to stop me. Other times I answer that question with “Ah who cares?” and indulge anyway.

  16. I hope you start to feel better! You’ve got so much going on with the move, etc that you’re body must be needing rest.
I’ve met a few celebrities from working in the film industry and I must say that they’ve all been pretty great. Mark Ruffalo and Leonardo DiCaprio are very very nice. Reese Witherspoon is down to earth, too. Luckily, I haven’t had any bad encounters.

  17. I met Reigs & Kelly a couple of years ago when it was a Guiness book world record episode. Fifteen-thirty of us were picked from the audience to be included – and we got to stand in the worlds largest human bubble with both Regis & Kelly. After we had our picture taken for the record book she chatted with all of us shortly – what a nice gal.

  19. Hm, I waited on Kim Catrall, Kathleen Turner and Christy Turlington when I was waiting tables in the Hamptons one summer. And I got to meet Jack Welch and Maya Angelou when I lived in Boston!

  20. I haven’t met a ton of celebs but I have met a good amount of Boston sports players. Paul Pierce, KG, and Rondo. Also, Larry Bird and Bobby Orr. My uncle worked in security for the TD Garden so I was fortunate enough to meet some of his friends. I have met Steve Carell & Steven Tyler too. Apparently, they both have houses in the town next to me. Both were nice. Steven Tyler was a tad weird, totally expected though.

Confession! I’m super jealous of any one that has met the Olsen Twins. Idk why, but I’ve loved them ever since their FH days.

  21. Um…Puck from the Real World did a show or something when I was in college. Also, I saw Al Sharpton walking down the street in NYC once. That’s about it.

  22. Tina – loved your health.com post this morning- i can really relate. I have joined your Lose the Dough Challenge and have stepping up my workouts, only drinking fri/sat, eating more greens and less bread ( a.k.a. love of my life) and really trying to be more conscious of treating my body and mind well:) But, with that said, I have pretty much the same problem when home alone or just bored- even after dinner when I am physically stuffed, mentally my brain thinks i “need” dessert and one bite of bread w/ pb turns into a slice or two or a handful of choc. chips turns into seeeeeveral:) I am wondering if maybe part of the problem is that I am not getting enough calories during the day? my workouts are more intense so maybe I am more ravenous? just a thought:)

  23. I met Donald Sutherland several years back when he came into the Barnes & Noble I worked at. He was in town looking at locations for a movie he was involved in. I was surprised at how tall he was and he was quite gracious.

  24. Loved your Health.com article – it is nice to see that I am not alone in the battle against sweets. Everything you said rings true. Thanks for sharing.

  25. Wow, awesome photos from the cake-off! I must say that I like how glossy and colorful your mod cake came out. 🙂
I met Robin Williams years ago when he was filming The Bird Cage on South Beach. I was only a little kid at the time, but he was nice enough to come and shake my hand!

  26. I met Jerry Van Dyke about 10 yrs. ago at his Soda Shop in Benton, Arkansas. He was just walking around being very friendly with everyone. They had old episodes of Coach playing on the tvs. He was very nice and did not mind having his picture taken with my mom and my son.

  27. I’ve met Vincent D’onofrio, Kyra Sedgwick, Jonah Hill, and my favorite Rhys Coiro (from Entourage). I work in the film industry so it’s becoming easier to meet celebrities. It’s really fun at first, but then you realize they are just like normal people. I’ve also seen Uma Thurman, but never really officially met here.
