I think I’m still stuffed from last night’s dinner!
The Thomas Bagel Thins folks treated the team to dinner at Nuela, a Nuevo-Latino restaurant. “Nuela brings a taste of South America to the Flatiron District in New York City, combining the excitement and energy of South American cuisine and décor with a modern, urban sabor.” Everything I tasted from Nuela was fresh, interesting, and so delicious! I’m a big fan of this place!
Caitlin and I joined Jennifer, the third member of our team, as well as Jessica and Kristen from Thomas Bagel Thins for dinner.
Dinner started with goodie bags! Jessica and Kristen gave each of us a bag with a Thomas Bagel Thins shirts for Sunday’s race, a water bottle, and a bottle of red wine for after the race. So fun!
Then, it was time for cocktails! I ordered the Andean Beauty, which was a martini made with lychee, ruby red grapefruit and lemon juice with Svedka citron vodka. Holy yum! I love citrusy cocktails like this one! It was slightly sweet, but light and refreshing.
Caitlin ordered the same drink. Great minds think alike!
Kristen, Jennifer, and Jessica ordered fun cocktails too.
Then, we ordered a ton of different appetizers from the menu and shared them among the table. We had Oxtail Empanadas, Shaved Hearts of Palm Salad with smoked dates and coconut vinaigrette (so good!), Smoked Brisket Arepas, Tuna with coconut, orange, and basil, Salmon with celery, yuzu, and sesame, and a number of other appetizers. I tried a bite or two of everything, and enjoyed them all.
And then came the entrees! We also shared these dishes.
For the entrees, we had the Scallop “Picante” with a Parmesan crust, gnocchi, tomato, and fennel (loved this!), Short Rid “Lomo Saltado” with tomatoes and Chinese broccoli, and the Lobster “Chupe” with butter poached lobster, turnips, purple potatoes, chupe sauce, and quail egg. Mmm! Let’s just say that I left the restaurant with a very full stomach last night!
Off to brunch next! I always have room for brunch (and cake)!
