Autumn-y

I’ll spare you the gory details of my nearly 7-hour long dentist appointment, but let’s just say, I wasn’t a happy camper by the end of it. I do, however, have two beautiful porcelain crowns on my back two molars, so I guess there’s a bright side to the whole ordeal!

I wasn’t able to eat at all during my dentist appointment, so by the time I got home at 5:00 pm, I was beyond starving. I went almost 10 hours without eating and I was cranky! 👿

As soon as I walked in the door, I immediately dug into the leftover chili in the fridge. I heated it up in the microwave, grabbed a piece of corn bread, and sat down for an early dinner.

Food never tasted so good!

I hadn’t eaten since breakfast, so, of course, I was still hungry after finishing my bowl of chili. There was some leftover pumpkin cheesecake from our friends, so I dug into that too.

I didn’t even bother with a plate! 😉

Thank goodness for soft food!

After eating an early dinner, Mal, Murphy, and I took a walk around the neighborhood. It was such a nice evening in Boston– cool, crisp, and very autumn-y.

Murphy was so well-behaved on the walk tonight. He’s sort of getting the whole leash thing!

On our walk, we stumbled upon a small Farmers’ Market. We picked up a few goodies for dinner this week.

Our walk continued on for almost an hour. It was nice to spend some quality time with my guys.

I’m spending the rest of my evening catching up with emails and my DVR. My hubby just brought me a mug of warm apple cider to help me with my work. What a guy! 😀

Pizza Dip Recipe

You guys asked for it, so here it is! 😀

In an aluminum tray (or baking pan), spread 16 ounces of cream cheese, and then layer your favorite marinara sauce, pepperoni slices, and top with shredded cheese. Bake at 350* F until cheese is melted, approximately 10-15 minutes. Serve warm with crackers, pita chips, or tortilla chips.

Back to the grind tomorrow! I only have 4 days left of my full-time job, but I still have so much to wrap up! Eek!!!

G’night, blog friends!

  1. Yikes about the dentist!!

But I’m glad you had a good night afterwards. The pics of Mal and Murphy are too cute 🙂 Good luck with the rest of your work week!

  2. that pic of mal & murphy where murphy is sitting politely waiting to cross the crosswalk made me smile reeeeal big! too cute. he clearly loves his daddy!

also, 7 hrs. at the dentist!? wow-eeee. talk about miserable. at least you had yummy eats to come home to. 🙂

  3. I, too, had a many-hours long dental appointment just this summer for two crowns. But when my blood sugar drastically dropped, they actually gave me apple juice and sugar-free yogurt (which I normally would never have bought for myself, but beggars can’t be choosers). Aside from the oddity of eating in the middle of a dental appointment, let me tell you — trying to drink apple juice and eat yogurt with a very numb mouth is not a pretty picture!
