Happy National Regifting Day!!

regifting

(There’s a national holiday for everything, isn’t there?)

Did you know 41% of people have regifted an item? [source: couponcabin.com]

I’m on the fence about regifting. Of course, it’s a very “green” way to give and if you can regift something to someone who might really like it, I don’t see the harm. But, at the same time, I’d feel weird giving someone a gift I haven’t actually bought for them””almost like I didn’t put in the time and effort. I’ve regifted a number of things to my mom and sister over the years, and I always feel the need to “fess up” and tell them it was a regift. They don’t care at all and they regift things to me too””we pretty much always have a bag of stuff to give each other when we get together””but I guess it’d be different for other people I’m not as close with. I dunno. That’s just me.

What are your thoughts on regifting?

Dinner

Last night’s dinner might look brown and boring, but it was anything but! We had Swiss cheese burgers with sautéed mushrooms and onions and homemade truffle fries on the side and it was awesome. Seriously, holy yum.

After dinner, I whipped up a batch of my Mom’s Apple Crisp because I had a craving for it and because we had some nasty looking apples in the fridge that needed to be used up. I used brown sugar instead of regular sugar and it still turned out well.
