My Shape Magazine Debut

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Ahhhh, I finally found it! My Shape Success Story!!! It’s in the October issue with Jennifer Love Hewitt on the cover, page 108!

I am psyched that my weight loss story made it into a magazine, but I’m not thrilled with the photo. My coworker actually said: “You look much prettier in person!” Um, yea, it’s not the best photo of me. 😕 The story, however, it right on. (Here’s my original weight loss story, if you want to compare.) When you read the article, you’ll notice references to my blog (wish they had mentioned the url!) and even Cookie Friday! 😀

I’m seriously so excited about appearing in a health and fitness magazine! What an awesome opportunity! I hope you check it out!

  1. Congrats!!! This is sooo cool! Totally annoying they didn’t mention your blog (you could help other people too!) but still very awesome 🙂

  2. YAYAYAYAYAY CONGRATS TEEN! Your site will be poppin’ off, even if they didn’t mention the URL! I bet the search terms will reflect that 🙂
    P.S. You’re gorg, regardless.

  3. Hi Tina…Congrats on Shape, I will be seeing it as soon as it comes in the mail.
I have a suggestion for you for Cookie Friday in San Francisco tomorrow….seriously….go to Specialty’s Bakery and get the Wheat Germ Chocolate Chip cookie…it is the best and I have been trying to re-create this one for 2 years. I used to work upstairs from one of the locations….Have fun in SF!!!

  4. You go girl! You SHOULD be proud. And I’m telling u straight up I love ur blogs. U have been a real inspiration to me & introduced me to so many things I would have never known about or tried!

  5. Woop woop!!! That is awesome lady!! My parents always said I should try and write in to one of those type of stories. Was it very hard to do? And congrats again!! Can’t wait to find it on the newstands 🙂

  6. How fun! It’s funny, I think most people are not happy with their photos. Why do they do that?! I figure they should want the most flattering pic of you. Oh well, still awesomely cool.
Have fun in San Fran!! 😀

  7. Tina! You are in Shape Magazine – how cool! People all around the country are going to read your story & be inspired. Congrats!!!

  8. you look beautiful. the walk over and back on the golden gate bridge is glorious; youll be able to see so much walking, i highly recommend walking. =)

  9. Congratulations Tina! I know how easy it is to be critical of yourself in pictures, but I think you look great–very happy and confident!

  10. When I read that story in Shape, I had a feeling it was you. And so it is! I think it’s weird they didn’t mention your blog, especially since it was part of the process. Oh well. Congrats!

  11. Congratulations on making the magazine! I just read this today in the line at the grocer and i didnt even realize it was you, but now I cant believe that I missed it. : )

  12. Hey, cool. I just found your blog by “hey who’s that other person with Jen and Kath, maybe I’ll like her blog!” And I am a Shape subscriber and read that success story…so it’s really cool to make that connection. When I saw there was a blog, I was bummed that they didn’t post the URL, but I guess I know it now!

  13. omg I am in bed reading Shape and came across the success story and I am like “hmmm this girl looks so familiar” and then it hit me “Carrots N Cake” lol…congrats chickie!!!! I was in Self a couple of years back but it was a tiny picture and caption on the Editor’s Letter page =)

  14. I love your article in shape! I can relate to your struggle post-college, as I have been steadily gaining weight since graduation. I weight approx. your “before” weight and it really hits close to home…I subscribed to your blog, and wanted you to know it has inspired me to get back on track!
