Good morning! Happy Hump Day!

The first thing I did when I woke up this morning was check who won the election. It was close last night when I went to bed. I’m glad to see we have four more years with President Obama!

Breakfast

Yesterday morning’s breakfast was a Sweet Breakfast Scramble, but instead of squash/pumpkin, I used chopped apple. To make it, I cut up half of an apple, microwaved it to soften it, and then cooked it into my Sweet Breakfast Scramble. It was a tasty change from my usual breakfast. I also added a big scoop of Teddie peanut butter to the mix.

I drank my VSL#3 with breakfast and then poured myself a glass of Dandy Blend with organic half & half. Mmm”¦ so good! I really savored it, and it took me the entire morning to drink it.

After breakfast, I threw on my sneakers to walk to the polling center to cast my vote. I didn’t have a workout on my schedule, so I figured a walk was a good way to add some physical activity to my day.

When I arrived, there was a short wait to vote, but the line moved quickly, so I was in and out in about 10 minutes.

Ivotedtoday

On my walk home, I started thinking about what my life would be like the next time I voted in the Presidential election. Four years from now is 2016, so I’ll be 36 years old. I hope by then, Mal and I have started a family (or at least seriously started talking about it). I’d like to still be living in our same house (a Whole Foods is going in down the street, so we are never moving) and blogging at CNC and writing for Health. Other than that, I just want to be happy and healthy.

I thought I was kind of lame for not having more concrete plans for the next 4 years (I have plenty of short-term goals and things I’d like to achieve, but nothing big and long-term), so I asked Mal about his plans. He pretty much said the exact same thing as me with regard to family, living, and work situations, so I’m glad we’re on the same page, but he didn’t have any specific goals or plans for the future. I actually thought this was kind of weird because we’re both such planners and goal-orientated people, but I’m okay with having a non-plan for once in my life. The only goal we came up with for the next 4 years is live our lives and enjoy every moment.

Question of the Day

Do you have a 4-year (or 5-year) plan? If so, what is it? Do you think it’s okay to not have a long-term plan?
