My favorite type of morning is getting my workout in first thing, followed by a hearty breakfast. For some reason, this combination always puts me in a good mood and sets the tone for my day. (I’m in such a great mood now! :mrgreen:)

Before heading to the gym for Body Pump, I snacked on a SOYJOY bar. I hate exercising on an empty stomach.

After Body Pump, Mal and I headed to the Wheelhouse Diner for breakfast. As you probably know, I love this diner. It’s my fav! I’ve written MANY reviews about it over the years:

Actually, I’m pretty much obsessed with diners, in general. I love everything about them.

Mal and I popped into Dunkin Donuts for iced coffees before heading to the Wheelhouse. D&D after a tough workout is heaven on earth! šŸ˜€

For breakfast, I got “the usual” with rye bread. So delicious! I ate it ALL!

Today is going to be another a busy day. I’m headed to a friend’s birthday party right now and then to a family BBQ later this evening.

  1. Hooray, sounds like you’ve got a lovely day planned! Oh, to be post-uni and not have revision….I haven’t left the house since 10am this morning (it’s 4pm here) cos I’ve been revising all day šŸ™ I hear spring is here apparently!?

  2. I could not agree more with waking up early and working out! It makes me feel so refreshed when I am done and I have already accomplished a great thing before anything can get in the way! Your breakfast looks tasty! Have a great Saturday!

  3. Yes! I teach Saturday mornings and I just love it. Breakfast or brunch out is seriously my favorite…we go every Sunday. Enjoy your weekend šŸ˜‰ give that adorable pug of yours a hug from me

  4. I am so not a morning workout person, I hate getting up! But I have to admit I do feel great when Im up and sweating early! And Dunkins is wonderful always!

  5. I would workout in the morning if I had time before my super-early bus to school… But there’s no gym nearby, nor would my mom allow me to exercise outside in the dark. šŸ™

    I can totally see what you mean by feeling great after exercise, though. Endorphins FTW!

  6. My favorite type of morning involves getting a workout in first thing too! Love it. I also love diners and just breakfast/brunch places in general because they serve my favorite foods! Have a most excellent Saturday Tina!

  7. When possible, working out in the morning is sooo much better for me. Also there is much less of a chance that I will flake out on my workout then. That bread looks delicious!!

  9. Morning workouts are the best, and depending on if I ate enough (or too much) for dinner the night before, sometimes no snack is needed before. I cramp easily, especially with a high intensity cardio workout. Hope the weather is nice for a BBQ today!

  10. I feel exactly the same way! I love banging out the workout in the morning, it helps me feel awesome the rest of the day. I workout stronger too! In the afternoon, I feel so sluggish, and post workout, I feel really drained!
    I also totally heart post-exercise iced coffee! It’s awesome!

  12. My favorite Saturday morning is leisurely breakfast with paper and crosswords, digesting, epic workout, long shower and beautification for a fun Saturday activity, and then an awesome lunch.

  14. We have something in common. I love going to diners and I also hate working out with an empty stomach. I try to drink fruit shakes or fruits before going to the gym. =)
