When it comes to gaming in our house, I leave it to Mal. He plays enough video games for the both of us! Just kidding. He actually doesn’t play that much””just on the weekends for the most part. Anyway, I’ve recently started playing some games myself. Here are three game apps that I am currently obsessed with!

iAssociate2

Have you guys heard of iAssociate2? Download it now! It’s a word association game and your goal is to guess words that are associated to the already given words. It’s a lot of fun, but I’m warning you right now that it’s a major time-suck. Mal and I usually play together and we’ll often lose an hour at a time!

Cut the Rope

Mal showed this game to me awhile ago, but I didn’t love it at first. It’s actually sort of hard until you get the hang of it, but once you do, it’s a lot of fun to play””and really addictive! Once I get going, I want to try different tactics to cut the rope, so I play forever!

Words with Friends

Obviously, Words with Friends. Is anyone not playing this game right now? Words With Friends is basically Scrabble with your friends, but you can playing multiple games at a time and at your own pace. I have 5 games going right now. I think Mal has 10.

Dinner

After eating a snack from Panera late in the day, I wasn’t super hungry for dinner, so I kept it light-ish with a grilled Dr. Praeger’s veggie burger with BBQ sauce and a sweet potato with Greek yogurt on top.

Breakfast

I woke up craving eggs this morning, so I made an egg and cheese sandwich on a toasted Sandwich Thin with a banana and a glass of iced coffee on the side.

Question of the Day

Maybe I shouldn’t ask this, but what are your favorite game apps right now?

  1. I actually am not “up” on any gaming apps. I have a really basic cell phone. I like the very cheap phone bill and I have an online game I play on the computer with my boyfriend, younger brother, and another friend. If I ever got a phone that COULD support apps, I think that would be dangerous for me. 🙂

  2. One of my cousins is ALL about Words With Friends and she told me to download it because it was so good. I have, but haven’t played it yet. (My time is too consumed by Pinterest lol!!)

  3. Ah! SO excited about this! I am tiring of Words with Friends and these other ones will be great to add to the mix. Thanks for the recommendations.

The only other one I do is Hangman (hanging with friends), and I’m finding that one fun.

  4. There are no gaming apps on my phone at all. I can’t justify playing a game on my phone when there is so much else to do! Now, maybe if I took public transportation to work or anywhere – it might be a different story. But then again, I would probably just bring a book and read it.

  5. I love cut the rope! and you’re right it is tricky at first until you get the hang of it. If you like that you would like Crayon physics too. not sure if you can get it on a phone though, but I think you can download it online.

  6. I have never really gotten into any games on my phone. Probably helps my “smart” phone is not as smart as it really should be since I have dropped it a few too many times to expect anything more from it besides basic functions…

  7. The only one I really am addicted to is Words with Friends! And I hear if you like that, you’ll also like Hanging with Friends — same thing, hangman style. Haven’t tried it though. And my boyfriend is obsessed with Angry Birds!

  8. We love the game where you have to find the different things in the pictures. My boyfriend and I always race to see who can find it first. It gets super competitive 🙂 dorky we know.

  9. That association one sounds right up my alley! I used to play Words with Friends but kinda got tired of it. I’m kind of in a gameless phase. My fave app is definitely Pandora!! Hooray for Christmas music this time of the year!! 🙂

  10. I definitely go on Words with Friends kicks. I was ALL about it when I first got my phone and would wait and wait and wait for someone to make a move. Then.. it got old. And I ended up forfeiting a bunch of games because I didin’t make a move!

  11. I am obesessed with games on my phone, I went through phase of angry birds, words with friends and now I am addicted to greedy spiders, unblock me.

  12. FRUIT NINJA! I am completely addicted to playing it on my phone. I can’t remember what I did on my commute before I found this game (don’t worry, my commute doesn’t involve driving- just sitting on a subway!)

  13. I really like Hanging with Friends. I was playing Angry Birds and realized I was wasting far too much time! Enjoying the games I can play with friends!

  14. iAssociate is one of my favorite games! Last year they did a special Christmas app that was advertised in the game so be on the look out for it this year. I like 7 Words as well but I wish that they had a way to get free levels like iAssociate does.

For non word apps I love Gyrotate, Stone Flood and Drop7. Plants vs Zombies, Bejeweled 2, Pogo and Slingo are good time sucks too!

  15. I only have 1 game app on my phone (Scrabble) and never use it. I was always against the idea of a smart phone (I like to keep things simpler), but I eventually switched over, mainly for the sake of being able to check my email on the phone. I swore to myself that I wouldn’t turn into one of those people who is always fiddling on her phone, and I’ve kept that up!
