When it comes to gaming in our house, I leave it to Mal. He plays enough video games for the both of us! Just kidding. He actually doesn’t play that much””just on the weekends for the most part. Anyway, I’ve recently started playing some games myself. Here are three game apps that I am currently obsessed with!
Have you guys heard of iAssociate2? Download it now! It’s a word association game and your goal is to guess words that are associated to the already given words. It’s a lot of fun, but I’m warning you right now that it’s a major time-suck. Mal and I usually play together and we’ll often lose an hour at a time!
Cut the Rope
Mal showed this game to me awhile ago, but I didn’t love it at first. It’s actually sort of hard until you get the hang of it, but once you do, it’s a lot of fun to play””and really addictive! Once I get going, I want to try different tactics to cut the rope, so I play forever!
Words with Friends
Obviously, Words with Friends. Is anyone not playing this game right now? Words With Friends is basically Scrabble with your friends, but you can playing multiple games at a time and at your own pace. I have 5 games going right now. I think Mal has 10.
After eating a snack from Panera late in the day, I wasn’t super hungry for dinner, so I kept it light-ish with a grilled Dr. Praeger’s veggie burger with BBQ sauce and a sweet potato with Greek yogurt on top.
I woke up craving eggs this morning, so I made an egg and cheese sandwich on a toasted Sandwich Thin with a banana and a glass of iced coffee on the side.
Question of the Day
Maybe I shouldn’t ask this, but what are your favorite game apps right now?
P.S. I’m hosting a healthy holiday recipe contest over on Trading Up Downtown! The winner gets a prize pack full of goodies to start of the New Year on the right foot!
I got SO addicted to Angry Birds that I had to take it off my phone!!
I actually am not “up” on any gaming apps. I have a really basic cell phone. I like the very cheap phone bill and I have an online game I play on the computer with my boyfriend, younger brother, and another friend. If I ever got a phone that COULD support apps, I think that would be dangerous for me. 🙂
I love Pixelated. I think it’s only for Blackberry and Blackberry Playbook – but it’s amazing.
(Blackberry, otherwise, is very lacking in awesome apps!)
One of my cousins is ALL about Words With Friends and she told me to download it because it was so good. I have, but haven’t played it yet. (My time is too consumed by Pinterest lol!!)
i don’t have a smartphone, so no cool games for me! no video games either…but my boyfriend plays them! he tried to teach me some zombie video game once and it was a big fail…lol.
I am not a gamer AT all. I don’t get addicted to those things. But I do like playing word puzzles-so an app that does that could be fun!
I LOVE eggs in the a.m.!!
Ah! SO excited about this! I am tiring of Words with Friends and these other ones will be great to add to the mix. Thanks for the recommendations.
The only other one I do is Hangman (hanging with friends), and I’m finding that one fun.
I LOVE words with friends! I also like a couple silly mindless games..Fruit Ninja and Doodle Jump..they are so pointless, yet so addicting!
I am completely addicted to Words with Friends. I also love Qrank – it’s a daily trivia game. I just added the other two you suggested!
There are no gaming apps on my phone at all. I can’t justify playing a game on my phone when there is so much else to do! Now, maybe if I took public transportation to work or anywhere – it might be a different story. But then again, I would probably just bring a book and read it.
I love cut the rope! and you’re right it is tricky at first until you get the hang of it. If you like that you would like Crayon physics too. not sure if you can get it on a phone though, but I think you can download it online.
I have never really gotten into any games on my phone. Probably helps my “smart” phone is not as smart as it really should be since I have dropped it a few too many times to expect anything more from it besides basic functions…
The only one I really am addicted to is Words with Friends! And I hear if you like that, you’ll also like Hanging with Friends — same thing, hangman style. Haven’t tried it though. And my boyfriend is obsessed with Angry Birds!
I love Cut the Rope, Bejeweled, and Peggle. But what about Angry Birds?! That game is seriously addicting!!
I’ve never played Words With Friends, but one of my co-workers is obsessed and trying to get me to “join” (I guess that’s what you do?)
I’m still into Angry Birds… I get on the bandwagon late. 🙂
We love the game where you have to find the different things in the pictures. My boyfriend and I always race to see who can find it first. It gets super competitive 🙂 dorky we know.
That association one sounds right up my alley! I used to play Words with Friends but kinda got tired of it. I’m kind of in a gameless phase. My fave app is definitely Pandora!! Hooray for Christmas music this time of the year!! 🙂
I’ve been rocking the holiday music on Pandora too! 🙂
Words with Friends all the way- i have 12 games going on currently!
I used to play all sorts of games but my favorite was Words with Friends. I just haven’t had the time to play since having a baby. 🙂 my fiancée on the otherhand is constantly downloading new apps.
I definitely go on Words with Friends kicks. I was ALL about it when I first got my phone and would wait and wait and wait for someone to make a move. Then.. it got old. And I ended up forfeiting a bunch of games because I didin’t make a move!
Haha! Me too! Mal used to hate playing with me because I’d never play my word, but I’m on a kick again!
Im loving words with friends, my hubby and I play all day long (when we are obviously supposed to be working!)
I am obesessed with games on my phone, I went through phase of angry birds, words with friends and now I am addicted to greedy spiders, unblock me.
A few people have mentioned Unblock Me. I think I need to see what it’s all about!
If you like Words With Friends, you might like Hanging With Friends. I haven’t gotten in to it, but a lot of my friends have. It’s kind of like hangman (I think?).
Oooh, I will check it out! Thank you! 🙂
tetris! so old school, but such a classic. i am totally addicted.
I love Tetris! Dr. Mario too!
Angry birds! I swore I’d never get into it but now I’m hooked!
I know it’s not a game but I really like the Fooducate app!
Me too! It’s really cool!
I can’t wait to try this out. I love games. I’m currently hooked on Fruit Ninja and a Sudoku app.
I LOVE Words With Friends! I also like Moxie and 7 Little Words. I tried Hanging With Friends but I didn’t like it.
WWF is the only one I play because I love that I can play with my friends and family, and it’s perfect to do when I’m waiting for the bus because it doesn’t require constant attention
Unblock Me. Huge time-suck but so fun and i find it destresses me.
FRUIT NINJA! I am completely addicted to playing it on my phone. I can’t remember what I did on my commute before I found this game (don’t worry, my commute doesn’t involve driving- just sitting on a subway!)
I few people have mentioned Fruit Ninja. I think I need to check it out!
I’m not a game app kinda person! I have zero patience for them haha I like good old fashioned board games, though…
I love sweet potatoes but I’ve never thought of yogurt on top!
I don’t play games on my phone much (or anywhere), but when I do, it’s usually sudoku or Bejeweled. 🙂
LetterBug and Fruit Ninja oh how I love thee. I feel like I need an intervention or 12 step program.
I play angry birds and words with friends. But not very often and so I am not too worry about my addiction. 🙂
I really like Hanging with Friends. I was playing Angry Birds and realized I was wasting far too much time! Enjoying the games I can play with friends!
I was like–“Dinner”? I’ve never seen this app before…
Wow; I am in love with this post!
For one, I am so excited about downloading the iAssociate that I can’t stand it! And for two, your dinner is “right up my alley”, and now I know what I’m having tonight. Thanks Xs 2!
iAssociate is one of my favorite games! Last year they did a special Christmas app that was advertised in the game so be on the look out for it this year. I like 7 Words as well but I wish that they had a way to get free levels like iAssociate does.
For non word apps I love Gyrotate, Stone Flood and Drop7. Plants vs Zombies, Bejeweled 2, Pogo and Slingo are good time sucks too!
I love BubbleBurst! It’s one of those games where you don’t need to use your brain at all, so it’s kind of relaxing. I’ll have to check out IAssociate app, it sounds fun!
Have you tried 7 Words? I’m obsessed. If you like word games, you definitely need to try this one.
I need to try greek yogurt on sweet potato! Love the idea 🙂
The Greek yogurt looks like marshmallow fluff. I was happy to read that it was Greek yogurt 🙂
Hey, do you have a clip from the bit you did on Dr. Oz? Did it even air yet? 🙂 Jess
I don’t have any game apps! My nephews gave me quite “the look” when they couldn’t find Angry Birds. “I wanna play Angy buhds!”
Gosh, I wish I were into games, but I’m not a gamer at all! Okay if I get into a game I start breaking a sweat and getting addicted, so it’s best for me to stay away at all costs. 😛
i love words with friends, angry birds, hanging with friends, bejeweled, and most recently some friends got me hooked on bakery story!
I only have 1 game app on my phone (Scrabble) and never use it. I was always against the idea of a smart phone (I like to keep things simpler), but I eventually switched over, mainly for the sake of being able to check my email on the phone. I swore to myself that I wouldn’t turn into one of those people who is always fiddling on her phone, and I’ve kept that up!
