Morning Person

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

I’m a morning person. As soon as I wake up, I think “carpe diem.” Seriously, this is the first thought that runs through my head 95% of mornings. If you’re not a morning person and you’d rather go back to bed like Murphy, you probably think I’m crazy. (Maybe I am?) But the thought of seizing the day (and, of course, breakfast) gets me right out of bed nearly every morning.

I enjoyed an amazing breakfast this morning thanks to Angela’s Healthy Carrot Cake Power Scuffins. Mmm! I’m now convinced it’s impossible to eat just one since I ended up eating two again. Damn, they are good! I also had an iced coffee with soy milk. Perfect breakfast.

Question of the Day

Are you a morning person? What’s the first thought that runs through your head when you wake up?

P.S. Check out my ice cream giveaway on Trading Up Downtown this morning! 😀

  1. I thought I was a morning person, but my co-workers informed me otherwise. So I’d have to agree with comment #2. “I’m up and at ’em, I”d just rather be at ’em in silence!”

  2. Definitely depends on the daY! SOme days I am a definite morning person, otehrs I want to roll over and go back to bed!

Hey…is it cookie friday yet??!! 😉

  3. I’m a morning person if I get good sleep the night before. Today was one of those days! I like my morning routine and had a great drive to work. Being optomistic is everything, right?

  4. Well for me on weekends, I usually sleep to 8:30-9am and then I can get my day started quickly. During the week, I’m like a zombie before 8am. Any tips to help me wake up with ease?

  5. I am SO not a morning person! I had to get up at 5am today and it felt like a death sentence. I wish I was, but I need a good half hour every morning just to feel human. You’re so lucky!

  6. Just reading all the comments – the morning people posted early! The SO NOT MORNING people posted later in the day!!! HAHAHA!!!

  7. i love the mornings! no earlier than 7am though please 🙂 my boyfriend lovesssss to sleep in and i just dont get it, seems like such a waste of a day to me! mornings are so peaceful and productive 🙂

  8. I’m definitely NOT a morning person! I’m usually thinking “It cannot really be 6:00 already..” 🙁 The weird thing though is that I am a morning workout person. Me + waking up early + a workout = great mood!! 😀 But subtract that workout and you get “cranky Andrea” all the way until about 11:00am!

  9. I am definitely a morning person! I LOVE my mornings. They’re so quiet and peaceful. I don’t really know what I think directly upon awaking, but one of the first things I do is look out the window to see if it’s going to be a nice day. If I see a rising sun and blue sky, I get this warm glowing feeling inside. I love the start of a beautiful new day…and, of course, breakfast on the porch. 🙂

  10. Morning person all the way – I just think how good I will feel after I run/workout and get things done before I have to head off to work!

  11. LOL, I’m so NOT a morning person. I wish I was, but I just can’t break my nightowl habits.

Eveyr morning the first thing I think is “Today I’m expecting good things.” It sort of sets my mood for the day and gets me into a positive thinking mindset!

  12. Haha, I agree with Julie (#77). That’s also my first thought 😉 I’m not a morning person, but I get up at 5:30 AM weekday mornings for work 🙁

  13. i’m always pretty chipper, no matter what time of day. i’m up around 7am and go to bed at 11pm, which wouldn’t make me neither an extreme morning OR night person. i don’t know what i think when i wake up – probably what did i dream about?

  14. I am not a morning person AT ALL. I stumble grumble mumble my way through the house.

Work days: first thing is “10 more minutes – reset alarm NOT snooze bc I’m just weird like that – repeat.” Nonwork days: first thing is Yawn – strech – resettle cats – fall back asleep. If I can I try to sleep in until at least 9am.

I’m a lucky one who can wake up, actually get up, help my hubby get ready/say goodbye then go back to bed/fall back asleep.

  15. I am a morning person, and I always have been. I like to get up and get my day started. I have more energy in the mornings than in the evenings. I like to go to the grocery store early on Saturday mornings when there’s no one there and the store is all nice and put together and clean.

  16. I am for sure not a morning person, but I tend to wake up anyways and try to do something to really tingle the senses (i.e. yoga, running, eating… ahahha). Usually getting motivated isn’t too hard. Maybe I am a morning person 75% of the time… Who knows? We’ll find out this fall when I have to inevitably seize the day and greet an 8am class! 😉

  17. I’m a morning person for sure…I get so much done in the morning. My work begins at 6:00 but I’m up by 4:00 getting my workout in before I shower and head out to work. My first thought is” I hope the sun comes out today”. That way I can walk my dogs after work

  18. Morning person, all the way. Unfortunately, I’m also like a child who can’t go to bed on time, so I can be running low on sleep. 6 am starts on weekdays (for yoga) and then I “sleep in” on weekends until 8 am.

I *hate* sleeping in. I can’t really sleep through, anyway, so I’m up and restless, and then I just feel lazy and sluggish through the day. Plus, the day is half over!
