Is that grass that I see inΒ our front yard!?! Woah. After the crazy winter we had here, I never thought I’d see the day.
The snow is really starting to melt here in Boston. I love seeing signs of spring! π I also love that the dirty, gray snow is just about gone. It’s so ugly to look at!
Workout
After breakfast, I headed to the yoga studio for a 75-minute Vinyasa class. It was very similar to the class that I took last Tuesday with lots of Downward Dogs and poses that really worked the upper body and shoulders. I have a feeling I am going to beΒ sore again tomorrow!
Lunch
After class, I headed home for an early lunch. I made a big salad with Garlic GoldΒ roasted broccoli, a scoop of garlicΒ hummus, and a drizzle of red wine vinegar on top.
Lunch also included a smoothie made with fresh raspberries, Vanilla Protein Powder, Almond Breeze, ground flaxseed meal, and plain Greek yogurt. I actually ended up drinking two 16-ounce smoothies because I made so much! Sometimes, I am really terrible with my measurements, and end up making way too much or way too little. Now, my stomach is full!

Fitbloggin’11
Exciting news: I’m going to Fitbloggin’ this year!! I was asked to participate on a panel about blogger responsibility and where we should draw the line. Of course, I’m nervous because public speaking always bugs me out, but I am really looking forward to this panel. I think it’s going to be a very interesting discussion.
Have you ever attended a blog/fitness/health conference? If so, what did you think of it? If not, would youΒ want toΒ attend one?
P.S. Check out myΒ motivational tipΒ for commiting to early morning workouts on WomansDay.com!

I haven’t attended a blog/fitness/health conference yet but I think that it would be such a great experience! I hope to go in the very near future!! π
I’ve never been to one… but I’d love to go! Care to buy me a ticket? π
Your salad looks great! I love that picture of Murphy! He looks like a statue! So cute!
I’ve never been to one yet but I would totally love to go if one is local to me! π It seems like a lot of fun!
Wow! I can’t believe all that snow that you’ve had has melted!
The sun is shining here today, but I know it is only a tease–winter sticks around until the end of April here in Alaska! π
Yoga always makes me sore the next day, but I love it!
I have been to Jazzercise conferences and they are really fun and it’s nice to meet other instructors. I would imagine that a blogging conference would be similar and give me the opportunity to meet other bloggers in person, so I would eventually love to attend one.
I went to the Healthy Living Summit – 100% without doubt, the best weekend of my life. It was amazing being around so many strong beautiful people!
π
yum! that lunch looks absolutely perfect.
did you guys get flooded? my parents in CT have a very swampy basement thanks to the thaw.
No, thankfully, we have a dry basement, but I know flooding was an issue for a lot of people in the area.
I’d like to attend one this year (and will be, the foodbuzz festival). They’re just SO much money for something that isn’t my main job. Fitbloggin’ looks fun!
I totally plan to attend at least one conference this year! Right now I’m thinking FoodBuzz is a must, and if HLS happens again, I’m going to do everything I can to get there too!
Oh how I love yoga π It feels SO great during and after, for sure! Cool giveaway– I wish I had run. I think exercise clothes is always a plus for giveaways π
Yayyyy Fitbloggin! Even though we won’t be roomies anymore, I hope we’ll still hang out lots π
I’m loving the signs of spring too. All of our snow melted on Saturday.
Of course, on Sunday it snowed a fresh 18″ so the excitement was short-lived. But still, I can feel spring coming!
That panel sounds great. I’m bummed I can’t make it to Fitbloggin’ this year but hopefully you’ll be able to give a recap of what’s discussed during the seminar. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the topic (and wish I could be there to participate in person!).
I’ve always wanted to attend a conference but it’s usually either bad timing or i’m trying to save money for something else. But I might go to a food blog conference in Orlando in a few weeks!
Murphy is a born model, but his downfall will be the same as Zoolander’s, he only does one look, “concerned pug”. He’ll never get signed with only one look π
I’ve never been to a blog conference, but I’d love to for the pure fact that many of the blogs I read, including yours, have changed the way I look at food. I now view food as fuel and fun, instead of the enemy, as I did for many years. I’d love to go just to meet the bloggers; people who I read so much about i feel like i *should* meet them.
Thanks again Tina for all you do.
Murphy can’t turn left either. It’s very strange! π
I won!?! I’m so excited! What a blessing! I joined a running club that starts in 2 weeks – this is perfect timing!!! Thanks Tina!!!!!
WAHOO!
So excited you’re coming and we’re rooming together!! =)
We’re going to rage! π
Ah, I cant wait to see some grass here in Canada :). I love spring!! Your photos got me all happy and excited π
I have yet to go to a conference thought they sound like fun!
I haven’t, but I really want to attend HLS this year π
I’m seeing signs of spring (aka grass) but I’m SO ready to FEEL signs of spring, haha. The temperature is still too cold!
i saw green grass for the first time in forever today…hurray! spring is on it’s way π
I attended Fitbloggin last year. Loved it! However, I was uber sick the whole time. Probably would have been more fun if I was healthy. I won’t get to go this year, but if they keep it in B-more I’ll most likely attend next year when I live in the area.
There are crocuses and daffodils blooming here in Portland. Lots and lots of rain, still a little cold, but some sunshine.
You have more meltage than we do here in Maine, but we’re still making progress. Melt, melt, melt!
Laura
So bummed I can’t go to FitBloggin’ this year! Last year was so much fun! But my best friend is getting married that same weekend… ahhh decisions π
oh so exciting about fit bloggin’! i’ve never been to a blogging conference, but fit bloggin’ really caught my eye. for me, it’s all about the finances though and $$ is holding me back at the moment. can’t wait to hear all about it!
Yum to that salad and smoothie! I have never been to a blogger conference, but want to this year!
I hope to get around to attending a blogger conference someday! Maybe after college, though π
No, I’ve never been, but I would love to go. Congratulations on the invite.
oh my, look at that grass!!!!! It looks soooo nice. We still have 3 feet in our lawn…and I’m a little north of you!
I would absolutely love to attend a conference but it’s just too expensive right now. Can’t afford it! π
Bah that was supposed to say 3 feet of snow…but I think you got me lol
Awesome news — Fitbloggin’ will be my first blogging conference so I’m excited to meet everyone and have a good time.
I haven’t attended one yet but would absolutely love to!
I’ve never been to that type of conference, but i sure hope to someday.
That’s so fun about FitBloggin! I wish I were going. I’ve got a full weekend of the StrawBerry Hill races on Saturday and then the Warrior Dash on Sunday.
I used to always make too much smoothie, also, which is another reason why I’m loving my single serve Hamilton Beach blender: http://t.co/M5jCbht.
I’m going to FitBloggin this year again, so I hope I’ll see you there. Also, I wish I could get Alouysius (our Pug) to sit nicely for pictures, but he’s too, um, “energetic” (read: out of control) for that.
Signs of Spring here in town = YES PLEASE!
And I havent attended a conference but have wanted to since the first HLS came to life! Except, I am always too scared to sign up just by myself.. and haven’t wanted to drag my mister with me! lol Sounds like so MUCH FUN!
Where do you take these yoga classes, Tina? I’m looking for a new local studio.
On the South Shore. Where do you live?
South Shore, too! π I’ve tried the Open Door Studios, but i’ve decided I don’t want to do “hot.” I’ve also been at the Weymouth Club (where I belong) but I don’t like the class times. My email is liz.blogisthenewblack@gmail.com if it’s easier to respond that way!
I will email you!
So jealous of your signs of spring! We just got loaded with 2ft of snow in Burlington (VT). Can’t wait until spring gets here
I’ve never attended a fitblog conference but I’ll live vicuriously through you guys! They sound like so much fun I really wish I could go! Congrat’s on being asked to speak! How nerve wrecking but amazing at the same time!
I’m fairly new to blogging and would LOVE to go to a conference. Can you list the ones that are coming up please?
that’s great Tina! But I’m sure you’ll get better and better with your speaking heebyz. π Noo I haven’t been to a conf. like that! But I’d love to someday, it looks fun and like a unique experience π
congrats on fitbloggin!
I’d love to go to a blog conference one day!
They are so expensive though π
And I’m a broke-ass ho right now!!
I’m pretty new to the blogging world, but I think a conference would be awesome-getting to meet and share ideas with awesome, like-minded people, that would be great. Can’t wait to hear about it!
I haven’t gotten to a blogging conference yet but I really want to soon! I think it would be so fun and informative!
Congrats on fitbloggin!
I just checked out the site for fitbloggin and was so excited to see it’s in Baltimore…however, I’m totally bummed because I have events at work both of those days and I’m not sure I can get off…but now I’m going to try to work out a way!!
I’ve never been to a conference like that, but I would love to. There’s just something about health and well-being forums that makes me so happy and excited! π
Very few things in life are ax exciting as the spring thaw!
I envy the lack of snow you have down there. With 2 feet still on the ground here I doubt we’ll see grass for a while yet.
I’ve never been, but want to go. I looked into fit bloggin’ actually just yesterday…I was a little late, because now registration is $299 π it looks like an awesome conference though!!
I’ve never been but I so want to go! I’m not sure I’ll be able to swing it financially though for this year.
