Saturday morning started with a fun partner workout. I teamed up with Marisa and whizzed right through it. It wasn’t a hard workout with regard to the weight, but, holy cow, it was a grip-smoker. I actually had to put the bar down on the hold during the Hang Cleans. Ouch!
After CrossFit, Qman and I arrived home. I had half of an iced coffeeĀ (French Toast + SFH vanilla) in the fridge from the day before, so I grabbed that while we played outside.
A little while later, we headed inside for lunch.
I made Banza pastaĀ (high-protein) and then mixed it with a jar of bruschetta and grated Parmesan cheese. Lunch came together in a matter of minutes and, my goodness, it was delicious!
After lunch, Qman went down for his afternoon nap. I cleaned up around the house and started some laundry. Quinn usually rips off a 3 or 4 hour nap when he’s at home, but he was awake after 1.5 hours. (He’s definitely going through some sort of developmental thing – his sleep has been so usual lately.)
Once we were all ready to go, we headed to our friend’s house for a birthday party, which was a lot of fun!
Greta, the Frenchie.
I ate approximately 1 million Doritos.
Hauperts + Greta butt! š
Quinn had the best time playing with Uncle Jon’s Ghostbuster toysĀ and went on a ghost-busting spree around the house!
The party concluded with the most delicious strawberry shortcake. I forgot how much I love this dessert – must make ASAP.
Question of the Day
What’s your all-time favorite dessert – like if you could only pick one dessert to eat for the rest of your life?Ā
Do you believe in ghost?
Me: Funfetti cake with thick frosting and yes, definitely.

French silk pie! But there’s nothing like strawberry shortcake in the summer, yum!
I love strawberry shortcake! I think if I had to choose a favorite dessert I’d pick fudge brownies!
My Mother’s house had a ghost in it on The Cape. TV go on and off, could hear whispering, closet doors would open on their own….
Mom didn’t believe me until she saw a whiffle ball being rolled around on a rug trying to play with the dog. Dad said it was all coincidental. LOL He said if I ever saw a ghost to wake him up cuz he’d believe it then!
Fun Fact: The house was built for Henry Fonda’s (actor) brother. Maybe it was him haunting it!
That is crazy!!
I was terrified of the house when I was in my 20’s. LOL. Slept with my closet light on for years!
I always forget about strawberry shortcake but I could definitely go for some of that before summer is over. Ahh..I don’t know how I could pick just one dessert! I might go with cheesecake of some sort. Maybe strawberry cheesecake with a graham cracker crust – my mom used to heat up strawberries over the stove until some of them burst open, then pour over the top of the cheesecake.
I want to try that banza pasta. I’ve been enjoying the red lentil pasta from Trader Joe’s and that one’s next on my list!
Banza’s mac & cheese is incredible too! š
I haven’t had strawberry shortcake in ages! If I had to pick only one dessert I think I’d go red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting or really, really good chocolate chip cookies. Hope you have a great day!
I have to get those shells. My 4 year old son is obsessed with shells lol. Can’t be any other type of pasta, just shells. I have been getting those ancient grain ones made with corn and quinoa but we must try chickpea ones! Quinn is so cute!!! Ryan loves Ghostbusters too, his favorite is Venkman
I love it when they like old stuff.
Strawberry shortcake is delicious and funfetti is definitely my birthday cake of choice, but if I could only eat ONE dessert for the rest of my life it would NEED to include chocolate and peanut butter…and ice cream. š
My favorite dessert would be yellow cake with chocolate icing. My husband buys me these gourmet cakes for my birthday and all I really want is yellow cake with chocolate icing. hahaha
I believe in spirits…the house I grew up in was built near the site of the Battle of San Jacinto (1836) in Texas. One night I woke up and through my cracked door I saw a man walking down the hall. I was little and just thought it was my dad. I saw the man again when I was older and he was in a military uniform but not modern day. My aunt stayed with us for a few months and she said she saw the man too. There was always weird things going on in that house. The smoke alarm and my radio alarm…not the radio would go off all the time by themselves.
Oh my goshhhhhh!
Favorite dessert of all time is brownies (slightly undercooked so the middle is all goey). And I always choose the inside of the pan, and luckily my husband prefers the outside parts. Served with ice cream and rainbow sprinkles – nothing better in my opinion š
Oh, yes, I love a good undercooked brownie! š
Mint chocolate chip ice cream cake, that way I get ice cream, cake AN D frosting all rolled into one. Bonus if it’s topped with Oreos. š
My all time favorite dessert is carrot cake all the way! I could eat it forever that’s probably why I’ve always loved the name of your blog!
All time favorite @Kelli @ Hungry Hobby: Ditto! No wonder we’re friends. LOL
Quinn…..sooooooo damn cute I can hardly stand it….as new parents I can just feel your joy…..
Either some sort of flourless chocolate cake, or the carrot cake from Metropolitan Grill in Seattle. That is a last meal on earth type of dessert!
Favorite dessert: rhubarb crisp! My mom makes it every spring. There’s such a short season for good, fresh rhubarb. We wait all year for it.
Ghosts: yes, definitely. We affectionately call the ghost at my parent’s place Katherine. She’s friendly
