My sister’s Mexican-themed bridal shower was a great success! She really enjoyed herself, and towards the end of the shower, she told told me it was exactly what she wanted! Mission accomplished!
We had perfect weather for the shower! Sunshine and blue skies! 😎
The decor for the shower was a mix of bright, colorful fiesta and backyard chic. 😉
The beverage bar was a hit! It was a great place for guests to gather and mingle.
Available at the bar were a number of beverages: summer sangria, margaritas, beer, lemonade, iced coffee, and water.
I drank a few (hundred) glasses of sangria. 😳

The favors:
The shower favors were so fun! 😀
Inside a “frosty” margarita glass was a nip of tequila, a lime, a couple of candies, and customized margarita mix.
So cute! My mom found these online here.
For the guests who didn’t drink alcohol or who were underage, we made “virgin” favors with a mini bottle of water, a kiwi, a couple of candies, and customized lemonade mix.

The food:
The food, of course, was Mexican-inspired, but much of it was light and healthy, too.
I never made a plate for myself (I probably should have), so I grazed all afternoon.
After eating, it was time for the bride to open presents! My sis had her work cut out for her, but the bridesmaids moved things right along.
My sister got a little help from my cousin Erin, too. Remember her at my shower last year? She’s too cute! 😀
Then the groom arrived to help open gifts.
One of the bridesmaids had a wonderful idea for the shower. Each of my sister’s college friends and her bridesmaids decorated a wine bottle for the couple to drink together at a significant event during their married life. For instance, the first Christmas they spend together, their first anniversary, and when they buy their first home.
Each of the girls wrote a poem related to their occasion and read it to the bride and groom before giving them the wine bottle. Most of the poems were hilarious!
The wine bottles were such a cute idea! My sister and Pat loved it! 😀
My mom, sis, and me:
After presents and wine bottles, we brought out the desserts. Mmmmm!
The cake from Konditor Meister was gorgeous! Thanks, Linda! 😀
And delicious!
After dessert, the party started to wind down, but Erin was just getting started with pinata!
Eventually, candy rained down from above! 😀
My sister took a quick photo with her college friends before saying goodbye to everyone.
Soon, the men came to gather the gifts and my sis and her groom headed home.
And they lived happily ever after.
The end.
