In case you don’t have time to watch the video, here are the transcripts so you can still get the answers about our challenge.

Hey guys, happy Thursday. Always have wet hair! I feel like every time I do a live video I have wet hair. Someday I’m going to do my hair for you guys. We were up and at em super early, I’m already showered and ready to go so I figured I’d do a quick live video to tell you guys about the Master Your Macros Challenge, which is starting on January 7th. I’m actually heading into the city today, I have Entyvio so after I this, I’m going to drop Quinn off and drive into the city. But I wanted to tell you guys about the Master Your Macros Challenge. I’ve gotten a few questions over the last few weeks so I just figured if people were asking, you guys might have the same questions. The Master Your Macros Challenge starts on January 7th. There are two options, a 4-week option and an 8-week option. You’ll work with a coach 1-1 to learn all about macros and just figure out how they work for your lifestyle. We’ll give you’re a macro prescription for workout days and rest days. It’s individual to you, your activity level, your workouts, your body type, your lifestyle, your occupation. We take a lot of things into consideration. Really, at the end of the day, it’s a calculator that we use to come up with these numbers but you’ll be working with a coach back and forth to find out what ratio really works for you. So upping your carbs if your workouts feel like crap or if you aren’t sleeping well. There’s a lot of factors that go into finding that right number for you.

One of the questions related to that is what is the difference between this challenge and your usual coaching macro plans and really, not much. It’s just we are all starting on January 7th, so it’s going to be more of a group challenge. If you want to start on January first, I just had someone email the other day and she wants to start on January 1st. That’s totally fine if you want to start then. Having a group to do it together with is super motivating, I am actually going to join in on the fun. Having that support so that we are all starting on the same day. So really that’s the only difference. You still get 4-weeks or 8-weeks, depending on your goal. Working with a coach, getting your macros, you’ll get recipes every week and you’ll have the support of an online group. So we have a private Facebook group where you can ask questions, get motivation, support, and all that good stuff.

I got a question about if you are a vegetarian, can you participate? For sure! Macros work for anyone. Vegan, vegetarian, paleo, gluten-free, the whole bit. Macros work for everyone. If you’ve ever done calorie counting or Weight Watcher points, it’s very similar. You are counting something. Instead of counting calories, you are counting grams protein, carbohydrates and fats. It’s just a more balanced way to keep track of your diet. And really I think it makes you more aware of your food choices. It gives you some of that food freedom. I am all about the carrots and the cake, I mean 11 years now I’ve been preaching that. I love healthy food and I love not so healthy food. Macros are a great way for you to have all the things you love, while still eating healthy most of the day.

Another question. somebody asked if they traveled a lot, could they do the Master Your Macros Challenge. Yes! We can definitely make that happen. We’ve had a lot of clients over the years that do a ton of travel and you can make it happen for sure. That’s the good thing about working with a coach is you can find strategize and ideas to help you hit your macros. I always say it like that because I’m very loose with hitting your macros. I don’t want people to be obsessed with numbers because numbers are important but at the end of the day, it’s about eating well, having a lifestyle that works for you and having some bumpers and boundaries to keep you in line. It’s not about hitting exact numbers all the time because that can make you crazy. So yes, if you travel, yes for sure, we’ve worked with a ton of clients. I travel quite a bit and I know how to make it work. I love sharing those ideas and so working with a coach to be able to figure out how to plan your day.

How much cooking and meal prep is involved? If you don’t like to cook, yes you can totally do this challenge if you don’t like to cook or meal prep. Every week you’ll get 6 new macro-friendly recipes, so breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack ideas that change week to week. So you’ll always have something that you can make. Not to say you have to make 6 recipes every week but we do encourage you to at least make one or two. Prep it on Sunday, we don’t want you in the kitchen for like hours and hours, plating every single thing you are eating. You’ve seen those people on Instagram that have the whole kitchen counter just laid out with what they are eating for the week. If you want to do that, great! I just don’t think it’s realistic. Plus, when you get to Friday, your food going to taste pretty blah. But we help you figure that out. Prepping one or two things on Sunday and then maybe doing a prep mid-week to get you to the end of the week is the way to go. That’s something you can totally work with your coach and again, it’s about finding what works for you. We can tell you what we do and what works for us, but these 4 or 8-weeks depending on what you choose, are all about finding what works for you and trying things. Trying the Sunday prep and prepping all your food and if it gets you through to Friday and it works, great. If you prep on Sunday and decide by Wednesday, you don’t want to eat that food. That’s not going to work for you. We just want you to try new things and find out what works best for you.

If you don’t exercise, can you do the challenge? Yes, for sure. We have lots of clients that aren’t big exercisers or just don’t exercise. Obviously, if you exercise, we’ll figure out how to fuel your exercise properly and how to recover properly. But if you don’t work out, we can give you macros to follow that still work towards your goals. Definitely possible!

I think that was it for my questions but if you guys still have any questions, definitely reach out and let me know. We’d love to have you onboard for the challenge, I’m super excited about it. It’s the first time we are doing a group challenge so I’d love for the Facebook group to be super active and us to motivate each other for 4 or 8-weeks. The 4-week option is a just jumpstart and intro to macros. For those 4-weeks, you’ll work with a coach to figure out what works best for you. Then after the 4-weeks, we want you to go off and track on your own with the tools you’ve learned. Of course, some change can happen in 4-week but we aren’t encouraging anyone to just drop a ton of weight quickly in 4-weeks. We want you to do it safely. You’ll see some change in 4-weeks but in 8, 12 or 16 weeks, you’ll see more and more changes. In the 8-week plan, it’s definitely for someone who’s never tracked macros and is a total beginner. Or someone who has a longer-term goal. You want to lose 10lbs, shape up for your wedding or a friend’s wedding or going on a vacation. Just a longer-term goal. The longer you track macros, the more results you’re going to see. I don’t want to give people unrealistic expectations saying in 4-weeks you’re going to look totally different. In 4-weeks, it’s a good amount of time to see some changes on the scale or in your body composition but really you won’t see those changes until 8, 12 or 16-weeks or longer. But those 4-weeks can teach you what you need to know to send you one your way. That’s all I’ve got! If you guys have any questions, reach out. I’d love to hear from you.
