In our house, we call my favorite cocktail (a martini) a marTINA. Mal made up the name awhile ago because (apparently) I have a little too much fun when I drink them! 😉
As soon as 5 o’clock rolled around, my husband was in the kitchen mixing me a dirty martini with olives. What a guy!
As soon as I had a few sips of my marTINA, I decided it was time to build a fire. Mal and I didn’t have plans to go out, so I figure that we might as well make ourselves comfortable at home.
When did I become such a homebody?!?
Dinner
For dinner, I whipped up an easy pasta dish with whole wheat penne, chicken sausage, spinach, Garlic Gold, olive oil, and shredded Asiago cheese.
For dessert, Mal made me a caramel-butterscotch marTINA. I have no idea what he put in it, but it was very dessert-like (and pug-colored). Mmmmm!
After two marTINAs, ridiculousness ensued.
Um, ok, it’s time for bed.
Good night!

I don’t know the origin of this quote but someone said to me once, “Martinis are like boobs. Two is perfect. Three is too many.” 🙂
By far one of my favorite posts! Favorite drink for sure. My hubby and I enjoy the olives stuffed with blue cheese…heaven!!!
marTINA is a much better name for them 😉
haha love this
Lori and I were big martini drinkers in college, we even thought it would be fun to open a martini bar and call it TwinTini…haha
Hahahah these pictures are so cute! While I don’t have a lovely hubby to spend Saturday nights in with, I do the same with my friends. Love that Murphy got in on the fun too! 🙂
Haha, you guys are too funny. I love martini’s too! There are just so many fun flavor combinations 🙂
My mother occasionally gets silly on gin and tonics…. or as we call them Gin and Tonya’s 🙂
Love a good, dirty martini! Sounds like a great way to keep warm on a cold night.
Haha, I love it! Being a homebody is amazing, especially when you have a great significant other that you have a blast with. I think all the fun I have with my husband at home is what makes me such a loyal homebody.

[…] Think twice about juice I used to sip cocktails full of fruit juices or pre-made mixes (I love margaritas!), but they added tons of unneeded calories to my diet. Now I keep the juice light and look for ways to incorporate other healthy ingredients. I order my margarita on the rocks with a splash of fresh orange juice, and I skip the sour mix. (I swear, you won’t miss it!) Or I combine flavored vodka with soda water and a small splash of pomegranate juice, which gives my drink lots of flavor and healthy antioxidants without too many extra calories. And, sometimes, I just skip the fruit juice all together and order a Dirty MarTINA! […]
