Good morning!
I mentioned yesterday that Mal and I decided to start a Designed to Fit meal plan together this week. We always a rough meal plan to follow every week, but not one custom to our macronutrient needs, so Iām excited to get back on track and have my hubby to help keep me motivated. (Below is a screenshot of Malās meal plan on his phone.)
And hereās my Monday In Meals!
- Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with roasted sweet potatoes + iced coffee mixed with Dandy Blend, coconut creamer, and collagen
- Snack: Apple chunks (nuked in microwave) with cinnamon
- Post-workout: SFH protein shake
- Lunch: Buffalo Chicken & Ranch Bowl (ground chicken breast mixed with broccoli, spinach, buffalo sauce, and ranch dressing) + a Beauty Burst (fruity collagen chew)
- Snack: Half of aĀ Chocolate Sea Salt RXBAR
- Dinner: Easy Chicken Fajitas over cauliflower rice mixed with white rice
- Dessert: Banana sautéed in coconut oil with chocolate chips + a mug of eggnog tea + a few bites of Coffee Toffee ice cream
Ok, so the Coffee Toffee ice cream wasn’t technically on my meal plan today, but I knew I wanted some after dinner, soĀ I made a few adjustments to my day via MyFitnessPal. We actually provide our clients with their macronutrient goals (protein, carbs, fat), so they can track on their own when their meal plan ends or if they decide to go “off plan” at anytime. And, EXCITING NEWS, clients will be able to useĀ their macronutrient numbers in tandem with our recipes and one-on-one coaching (aka on-going support and accountability) in our brand newĀ Macros + Meals Plan, which will debut later this week. Itāll give clients even MORE flexibility with their meal plans, like if they want to eat Coffee Toffee ice cream at the end of the night. š This new meal plan wasĀ actually created from client feedback, so we know it’s going to be AWESOME! More details to come!
Question of the Day
Do you track macros/calories? What program/service/app do you use?

Did you guys rebrand from “DTF” to add the nutrition? hehe i think people could have gotten confused in the acronym!
It’s been Designed to Fit Nutrition since the very beginning. Designed to Fit actually wasn’t available as a URL and trademark/business name, so it’s always had the Nurtition part.
@Hillary Gras: I thought the same thing!!! DTF has a different meaning… š
I track macros using MyFitness Pal. I think I started using it because of your blog! I love that there is a customizable macro goal AND that you can more easily track various macros and micros with each meal. I like to keep an eye on sugar and sodium, and the app is a lot more comprehensive these days!
haha gotta love the pug pic! Your program seems really cool! I honestly hadn’t realized it was so legit and techy! I, however, can’t track macros or calories because I’m ‘recovered’ from an ED and I get super all-or-nothing with that kind of dieting and numbers stuff.
I have ice cream envy right now!
I don’t like to track down anything because I become hyper-focused on numbers. I try to create habits that I know are sustainable for me so tracking my food just kind of ruins the eating experience for me and isn’t really feasible for me in the long run. I see the value in it but I just know myself and know I will be OCD about them.
I do. I’ve been using the Lose IT app for years!
Are those Sea Salt Chocolate Rx Bars not the best?! I discovered them during an emergency hunger situation while on Whole 30. Now I’m obsessed. š
You have to try Halo top ice cream! All of my friends who are counting macros rave about it.
I’m a MFP app user but I’m always open to new suggestions. Love the SFH protein. Are you an ambassador? I need to order more, I’d love a discount code if you have one!
Sadly, I’m not, but, man, I should be since I promote their products so much! Haha! š
I just finished up a 4 week meal plan from DTFN and I loved it! I am now using MyFitnessPal to track my macros and so far so good:) I am still using my meal plans I got from DTFN but I’m also venturing out and planning my days based on macros.
Yayyy! So glad to hear that! š (I recognize your name. I think I made your plan!)
@Tina: Yes, you did make my meal plan and I LOVE it!
I tried tracking macros last year and I think I gained weight! I have tracked calories in the past using my fitness pal and if I feel like I’ve gained some unwanted pounds, I will keep track for a short period of time. I can get too obsessed with numbers, so I just try to eat intuitively and make healthy choices most of the time!
Are you not eating peanut butter anymore? I remember that was one of your favorites.
I still eat it quite a lot… just not yesterday! š
I do track my macros! I have been going steady for almost a month, sometimes on the weekends I cheat here and there. Not crazy cheats though. I use myfitnesspal to track everything.
My question do you see that women really fluctuate with their weight?
I am so bad at eating a half of a bar ha ha sometimes I know I should but I just can’t!
I track using myfitnesapal. It is the easiest to use.
I will personally attest that the Macros + Meals Plan has made me a lot more sane and more inclined to follow a healthy and balanced diet throughout the day (and night, which is more critical to me, given the evening snacker in me)! So happy you all are moving forward with this additional plan offering! š Thanks for being so flexible and receptive to feedback, Tina!
So glad to hear you’re enjoying the new plan!! š
I’m so happy for you that DTFN is successful!! I love Mal’s profile pic of Murphy š <3 That's totally something I would do. Bha ha ha! Keep up the great work!
I’ve been so interested in tracking my macros and I love seeing the flexibility people have – so much food and it looks delicious! I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on DTFN soon!

That app looks so cool!! This may sound silly, but by “tracking macros” do you just mean tracking calories?
