In all my years of blogging, I have never titled one of my posts: Lunch (or simply ‘Breakfast’ or ‘Dinner’). I’ve written 2,175 posts for Carrots ‘N’ Cake (and another 95 for Trading Up Downtown), so you’d think by now, I would have resorted to a simple title like this one. Yet, somehow, I manage to come up with something every time.

I am the first to admit, however, that some of my post titles are truly terrible (i.e. The Pug is WaitingSandwich and a Show, and Dinner, I Guess?). Even still, I’m pretty sure that I will save ‘Breakfast’ or ‘Dinner’ for when I am really desperate for a title! 😉

If you have a blog, how do you come up with your post titles?

Lunch

Today’s lunch was packed in less than 5 minutes. Murphy gave me such a tough time this morning. We walked for a good 45 minutes, which, of course, is great exercise for the both of us, but he never went to the bathroom! 👿 Murphy chills in his crate while I am at work, so I couldn’t leave him for the next 5-6 hours without going. Long story short, I only had about 5 minutes to throw together lunch!

I started with a homemade salad of romaine, spring mix, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, and BBQ-flavored KooLoos.

I also had half of a PB & J sandwich on whole wheat bread and a Granny Smith apple.

And, the rest of the bag of grapes. (They were starting to go bad, so I figured that I might as well eat them up!)

2010 Heartbreak Hill Half Marathon

A reader sent me an email about this wonderful half marathon coming up in May. I’m not sure my hip can handle 13.1 miles in mid-May, but I figured some of the locals were up for the challenge!

The 2010 Katie Lynch Heartbreak Hill Half Marathon and Purple Shoes Challenge takes place on May 16th at 7:30am at the Newton South High School. The challenging race course winds through scenic neighborhoods and up Heartbreak Hill in Newton , MA returning to Newton South High School for the finish. All race proceeds are donated to the Katie Lynch Foundation, which funds programs that promote opportunities and respect for people with disabilities thereby welcoming all to lead active, fulfilling lives.
