Life with a newborn”¦
Accomplishing things that I used to do without a second thought are now some of the biggest achievements of my day””and yesterday was one of those days. I was on fire getting things done, and it felt awesome. Haha! That said, here are some of my little victories from yesterday!
I had bacon on my breakfast sandwich. Haha! I usually save bacon for the weekends because it’s an extra step in the breakfast sandwich-making process, but I cooked some up and it was well worth the effort. This sandwich had a wedge of Light Creamy Swiss from The Laughing Cow on it. Delish!
I purchased a couple of things I’ve been meaning to buy for a few weeks now. Amazon Prime FTW!
Q and I ran 3 miles and walked one with the stroller. It was a little chilly yesterday morning, so we waited until mid-morning to get out and move.
Around lunchtime, Q and I made a quick trip to Whole Foods for a few groceries. He loved looking around and checking everything out. (His expression in the photo below totally cracks me up! Haha!)
I made Crock Pot Santa Fe Chicken for dinner. It was seriously so easy””just throw the ingredients in the crockpot and you’re good to go! FYI: It turned out so well! I will definitely make this recipe again!
I cut Q’s fingernails. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I was filing down Q’s nails with an emery board, which sort of worked. It left his nails kind of jagged, and it didn’t seem very efficient since it took me so long to make any sort of progress, so I finally bought some baby nail clippers and they work so much better. The first time I used them, I was super nervous””I didn’t want to cut Q’s tiny fingers””but I’m a pro now!
I took Q and Murphy for an afternoon walk, and I didn’t run over the pug with the stroller. Kidding! Although, he’s quite the daredevil running in front of it without a care in the world. I keep telling him he’s going to lose a pug leg if he’s not careful!
Question of the Day
What little victory did you accomplish yesterday?

Laundry, a new recipe, a blog post, and worked out! When there are lots of things keeping me busy, sometimes those things are hard to accomplish! I agree! Little victories are worth celebrating 🙂
Little victories are always worth celebrating. Yesterday my fiance and I finally found a bartender for our wedding reception after the one we had fell through and we finalized our seating chart. I love checking things off the to-do list!
PS that bacon and egg sandwich looks delicious! Bacon=YUM!
You may already know this, but Baby Wise is highly controversial. The American Academy of Pediatrics even advises against it. http://aapnews.aappublications.org/content/14/4/21.abstract
Babywise is fabulous. I’ve read the controversy and I’ve read the actual book. It doesn’t say not to feed your kid, which is the controversy in a nutshell. I don’t see any mention of babywise in your posts though so I’m confused lol
Yesterday I was just thinking how the smallest victories add up! I fit in a strength workout, stuck to my meal schedule and tried a new crockpot recipe too. Mine was pulled pork!
Omg, I can totally relate to all of these! My dog also veers over in front of the stroller, and I feel like I spend quite a bit of time each week trimming my 5 month old’s nails. I did get a little of her skin with the clippers a few weeks ago, so now I’m super nervous again. And I love that crockpot chicken recipe, it’s a regular in our house.
My daughter was born June 10th so she and Quinn are only 1 day apart! I hats grocery shopping with her because I never know if she is going to freak out or not. -I’m jealous of all the workouts you are getting in…she doesn’t like her car seat, stroller or carrier yet!
He is so precious! Are some pictures on your blog just from your phone? Just curious – because it seems so hard to take my DSLR out all of the time but I feel like it’s lazy blogging 🙁
Yep! Most are from my phone! ðŸ‘
