Wow-wee!! I can already tell that this trip to New York City is going to be a blast. There’s so much packed into it!!
After breakfast and my adventures at the TODAY show, I went to my hotel for the night with the hopes of checking in early. I ended up with a room right next to the elevator, but I didn’t really care. I just wanted to get settled and take a shower!
As always, here are a few shots of my hotel room at the Doubletree Metropolitan Hotel New York City. As you probably know, I am obsessed with hotels! š
It’s pretty basic, BUT when I checked-in, I was handed a warm chocolate chip-walnut COOKIE with my room key!! š
Best hotel ever!
Once I got settled in my hotel room, Sabrina and I visited to the Women’s Day offices to meet with a few of their editors and discuss some ways that we can work together in the future. Everyone we met was really nice and so down-to-earth. (They might even have convinced me to run the Philly Half Marathon in November!?)
While there, Sabrina and I also got to see the Women’s Day test kitchen!
And sample pumpkin cheesecake made with gingersnap-pecan crust! Can you say holy yum!?! (FYI: The recipe will be published in the Thanksgiving issue of Women’s Day magazine.)
Then, Sabrina and I grabbed a quick lunch at Dean & Deluca. I had a lemonade and a piece of mushroom pizza. It was tasty, but definitely over-priced.
I just got back from a fun event put on by Hanes. Recap coming soon!

It’s interesting to see the test kitchen for Woman’s Day. I work at the test kitchen at Rodale. (creator of such magazines like Women’s Health and Prevention). We just finished up testing the recipes contestants submitted for Organic Gardening Magazine’s contest to win a spa vacation!
