This is the first weekend in months (maybe years?) that I don’t have a single thing planned. Amazing, right? I’m sure that I’ll end up doing something, but there’s nothing on my calendar for two full days. The weekend is totally wide open! I love that! 😀
Lunch
I missed out on some veggies in my diet yesterday, so I made sure to load up today. I started with a homemade salad of romaine, tomatoes, carrots, dry roasted edamame, and balsamic vinegar.
Speaking of salads, check out Sabrina’s I Love Salad! Challenge. Such a great idea!
For lunch, I also made a batch of Roasted Broccoli. (Yes, I am obsessed with this recipe.)
I rounded out lunch with a banana and a chocolate-flavored Oikos.

Blog: Peace, Love, and Running
Hello CNC readers! I’m so pumped to be featured on one of the best blogs out there! This year, I am running my 2nd Boston Marathon. I’m actually running it as a ”˜tune-up’ for the Bayshore Marathon which I will run 5 weeks later. I hope to break my PR of 3:18:07 at that marathon. I’m so excited to be coming back to Boston this year and will be running it with a friend who is a Boston virgin! The town and crowd support (of amazing people like Tina) make this race an experience unlike any other. I am psyched to see where I am at training wise at this point (detailed on my blog). I’m crossing my fingers that the weather holds out and I can’t wait to be at the starting line. Good luck to all runners!
Katie
I’m 27 years old and from Syracuse, NY–the winter weather here makes Boston training interesting, to say the least! I’ve run four marathons (Marine Corps three times, Palm Beaches once), including two Boston qualifiers. I was training for Boston last year but got a stress fracture three weeks prior to race day, so this has been a long time coming and I can’t wait to finally do this!
Claire
My name is Claire Pringle, I am 23, and I currently live in Philadelphia. I’ve been running competitively since high school, so about 10 years! This is my first time running the Boston Marathon, but is my fourth marathon. I’ve run Philadelphia twice and PR’ed at the Virginia Beach Shamrock Marathon last spring with a time of 3:20:10! I’m in the first wave at Boston and my bib is 8894, so please look for me and cheer me on! Spectators’ encouragement is so helpful in getting me through these races.
Bostonians, where are you watching the marathon on Monday?
