Yesterday afternoon, while the guys watched football, the ladies took part in an epic clothing swap. Remember when I went to one last winter at Marie’s condo? Well, she and I hosted another one at my house yesterday.
And, holy moly, were there clothes!! Everyone brought a ton of stuff to swap!
And it wasn’t just clothing as seen here:
There was also a hairdryer, lunchbox, shampoo and conditioner– pretty anything went yesterday!
Once everyone arrived at my house for the swap, we organized the clothing.
By size:
And by type:
Tops on one table.
Bottoms on another.
Dresses in the living room and accessories in the guest room.
I still can’t get over how much stuff we had!
Once everything was organized, it was time to get our swap on. We all picked numbers to determine the swapping order, and then each of us had a chance to pick out an item and try it on. Once the first person was happy with their selection, the next person picked an item and so on.
We did this rotation a few times, but it was sort of time-consuming, so, eventually, the swap opened up into a free-for-all and everyone just grabbed what they wanted. All of us were different sizes and had different tastes in clothing, so no one argued.
I ended up scoring a sweet J.Crew grey cardigan, a plaid pencil skirt,Ā and a Land’s End blackĀ long-sleeve shirt. Wahoo!
At the end of the swap, there was quite a bit of clothing that no one wanted, so I’m going to try to consign a few pieces at a shop near my house and donate the rest to Goodwill.
In addition to clothes, everyone brought a ton of food, too!
The spread included tons of dips including Spinach Artichoke Dip, Tabouli-Hummus Dip, and Marie’s famous Buffalo Chicken Dip.
Veggies + dipĀ and fruit + dip.
A variety of beverages: wine, lemonade, and mint iced tea.
Desserts: cookies with chocolate chips, butterscotch chips,Ā and pretzel pieces that Elizabeth bakedĀ and my special sandwich recipe made on Arnold Health-full bread for National Sandwich Day.
Of course, I went with a dessert sandwich! (I’ll be sure to let you know when my recipe is on the Arnold website.)
Arnold wants you guys to try their new Health-full bread, so they’re giving away coupons for a FREE loaf to 10 different winners.
If you’d like to try Arnold’s new bread, just leave a comment on this post about your favorite party food. I’ll randomly pick a winner tomorrow morning.
Good luck!
