Kicking & Screaming

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Man, I am a miserable bitch when it’s cold outside. 😕

Mal dealt with my terrible mood for about 10 minutes before telling me that I needed to get out of the house ASAP. I hadn’t put on an once of make-up or even washed my hair for the day, but I knew that a night out with my hubby would do me good. Plus, sitting around the house being miserable sucked ass.

So, Mal treated me to dinner at a restaurant down the street. Good food (and booze) always seems to make me feel better! 😉

We started with a couple of drinks. I went with a glass of Chardonnay.

For dinner, I ordered the stuffed tomatoes, which were filled with breaded scallops and shrimp.

They were tasty, but not the best I have ever had.

For dessert, I downed two Butterscotch MarTINAs.

My stomach is a little bit queasy after all of that sweet liqueur, but it was totally worth it. I am in such a better mood now!

Tomorrow is a new day!

  1. Sorry you’ve been down. Getting out of the house always helps. Do you think it’s because you’re stuck inside all day? Maybe if you make it part of your schedule to work at the library or another place a few hours out of the day, every day, you won’t feel so down and cooped up. Change always helps. Glad Mal helped lift your spirits!

  2. This fellow Boston girl knows exactly what you are talking about. Holy ridiculous winter! I used to be Suzy Sunshine in the morning and now I am cranky. Period! And we are getting a storm today!

  3. tina, hello from sunny greece!i read your blog often and i like it a lot, so i was more than happy to see that greece is a place you want to visit some day, as is boston for me!
i think its a completely different country, with culture and way of living that tourists find bizarre..i think its worth a visit!
even now with 0 c outside its sunny..
kisses and if you d be interested i d love to share some good old traditional greek recipes..

  4. Haha good man! Don’t worry you aren’t the only cranky person…everyone in Boston is getting snippy and pushy because of the cold weather (ahem, me included). We are almost done with winter, right? 🙂

  5. Oh I would feel better too after those yum martinis ; )

Glad you got out and you guys had a nice dinner! I hibernate n the winter, its just too cold : p

  6. Are you supposed to ger any sny snow from this storm? We are beig hit now (Pennsylvania) so I am wondering if it will work its way up the coast!? I love snow, but I am sure all of you Bostonians are getting a little sick of it!

  7. Ahh the hubby of a foodie…. I was having a bad day this week and instead of flowers, my hubs brought me a red velvet ding dong! YES! I don’t know if it’s a bad or a good thing that they know the way to our heart is food (and booze).

  8. Loved this. It made me laugh out loud. I can be a miserable bitch from the weather too! We like in OK so we have some brutal winters also. Last year we had a horrible blizzard and we were stuck at home for three days. I think we got drink every night!
