It’s November, right? Well, it feels just like a warm spring day. It’s 60 degrees and sunny outside, which is totally unheard of for this time of year.
Hey, I’m not complaining. I love it! š
I can’t wait for this hydrangea bush to blossom in the spring. They’re my favorite flower.
Workout
After breakfast, I took advantage of the beautiful (aka abnormally warm) weather and set out for a 4-mile run around my new neighborhood. According to my marathon training schedule, I was supposed to do Track Workout 2 today, so I kept it in mind while running outside. After warming up, I picked up my pace three different times for the 800’s. My goal was to keep my pace between 8:15 – 8:30 for each of them and recover at a 9:15-9:30 pace.
- Mile 1: 8:50
- Mile 2: 8:49
- Mile 3 8:54
- Mile 4: 9:32 <— I started to feel those 800’s!
Total: 36:09
Lunch
After my run, I stretched and used the Tiger Tail on my tight calves. (Yesterday’s Step & Strength class kicked their butt!) Then, it was time for lunch!
I threw together a quick salad with all sorts of veggies, roasted broccoli, leftover rice pilaf, and Annie’s Goddess Dressing drizzled on top.
After lunch, I satisfied my sweet tooth with a mug of Winter Dream Tea (made with soy milk) and a dark chocolate Adora disk with a dried apricot. I love eating Adora disks with dried apricots. So yum!
See ya for dinner! š

This weather is fantastic! And a little eery I guess. But I plan to head out on a run in a couple hours and I don’t even think I’ll be in long sleeves! It’s the end of November!! Adora disk, I have noooo idea what that is, going to have to go look in to that! š
I don’t know what’s up the weather. Its almost 70 degrees in DC!
I’m OK with the weather now, but we’d better have a white Christmas!
It’s in the 60s here too… but I think it’s cooling down today!
Murphy looks SO happy in his big back yard! Enjoy your spring like day, what a treat!
Hydrangeas are so beautiful. When I was at Pitt, there were these incredible blue, purple, and pink ones all around the Cathedral of Learning. I have so many photos of them.
It’s warmer than expected where I am too.
Great fall (and spring) pictures! I love my foam roller, I use it all the time! Is it possible to be addicted to it?
So jealous of your weather. We’ve got record breaking cold.
I can’t believe how warm it is. I took the dog for her lunchtime walk and was sweating in my sweater and jacket. But I fear that the cold will return tomorrow and snow is probably around the corner. At least you got to enjoy it today!
I love our weather too! My garden doesn’t quite look as nice as yours but the sun has actually made an appearance in southern Ontario this morning and I loved going outside at lunch time. My office doesn’t have any windows (which on some days is a good thing because winter weather here is very depressing!) but today I wish it did. Love your photos today!
It really is so warm in Boston today! I’m confused. Winter coat yesterday, pullover fleece today. Make up your mind beantown!!!!
That doesn’t seem like much food to eat after a 4 mile run. Weren’t you starving? Then again, sometimes I’m not hungry right after a workout…but I do tend to eat more overall when working out.
The weather is absolutely gorgeous today! It has actually been a pretty good November compared to last year. I’m enjoying it while it lasts though, because according to weather.com, it isn’t supposed to last.
I agree with you, your hydrangea will be lovley.
I wish I could share in your warm weather, I’m not sure it will make it to 20 degrees today! Brrrr!
It’s been SO warm on the East Coast lately!! I kind of love it, but I do hope that we get a white Christmas…my wish every year š Enjoy the rest of your day!!
Sounds like nice weather! We got some SNOW last night here in Eugene, OR which is totally rare. The whole town is like “uh, what do we do with this?”
LOVING this fantastic weather! enjoying it now before the snow hits š
I think Seattle stole your winter today. I’ll be happy to return it to you!
Awww…I bet Murphy is loving his new backyard!
Was just wondering if you have ever had problems with shin splints and how you managed to get through them? I have recently developed shin splint in just my left leg and having to take a 2-3 week break, which completely messes up my race/training schedule. Any advice or helpful info??
We’re having the same weather here and I hear it’s not going to last very long so I’m soaking up every drop!
Super jealous of the warm weather! Our unusually warm streak has ended in Iowa. It is 30* right now! Brr!!
I’m loving the warmth too! I just got to Virginia a few days ago and it’s so warm I’m wearing shorts and a tank top. After being stuck in several layers of warm clothes for two months this feels fabulous!
I thought I’d add my two cents. I am in Saskatchewan, Canada. I took my 20minute walk to work in -20*F (-28*C) weather.
With a wind chill of -36*F (-38*C).
I’m so jealous of you all. I’m from the east coast of Canada (though Saskatchewan is in the western prairies), and its 36*F (2*C) there. I’m even jealous of that!
ha – that apricot and adora does sound like a yummy combo!
That was our weather yesterday, mid 60’s…it’s currently in the low 30’s.
Have a great day š
Jen
I think we are having opposite weather. It is 6 degrees F where we live Idaho and feels like -13 with the wind!
Of course it warms up to the 60’s when I leave Boston for vacation! I am in AZ and it is colder here! š
It is pretty warm for November. I was out in a tshirt and shorts last night- NIGHT! Isn’t is suppose to be cooler then? š But the weather man says it’ll be super chilly the next few days, so we better enjoy it!
i’d really like this weather if my building didn’t have the heat on… so nice to be outside, though
I wish our weather was like that today – it’s raining and just very obnoxious out! Love the flower pics.
At least you had sun! It’s been rainy all day up here in NH. š Can’t even enjoy the nice temperature!
Perspective is a funny thing. It is around 60 degrees here in La Jolla (San Diego) and we are all freezing!
it’s 40 and sunny in boulder today and it feels like mid-summer š
It’s the same type of weather in Jersey! I took total advantage and went for a run too – only 2 miles though. š
@Vanessa: egads, don’t say that!! i’ll be in the area next week and i’m coming from Sydney, Australia!!! lol….will i survive??
Great job on the workout!!!
@Amy: I haven’t, but I’ve heard that ice can help.
I’m jealous the South shore had the sun today- it was cloudy up here š It was warm though which I appreciated!
i love that your able to photograph outside now
I’ve never tried dark chocolate with dried apricots! Which is odd, considering I eat chocolate several times every day… you’d think I would’ve experimented more š
It really was nice today! I was up and out in the morning (because they said it was going to rain in the evening – liars!). Did 4 miles as well – but definitely not as fast as yours!
@chandra: I wore flip flops today anyways! I like to pretend that I live in Orlando, or back in New England it seems!
Wow it was snowing here today.
I <3 hydrangeas too! They're my favorite – and were my wedding flower!
OMG! Our high in Portland was 27 today. What’s with this crazy weather?
Loved the weather today! I was walking around downtown in a tee-shirt. It was great!
We had that weather yesterday and now today it was feezing cold!!! Happy Thanksgiving!
@Angela: I hope you will. Are you actually coming to Saskatoon? Bundle up! š
How nice! The high in northern MN right now is 14 F…I’ll trade ya! š
