My morning started like most other Saturdays: eating my usual pre-run breakfast, meeting running friends at the South Boston Running Emporium, and cranking out a long run together.

Today’s run was a 13-mile route from Southie to the Boston Common around the Charles River and back. I ran with Nick and Ashley again, and we finished in 1:58:36 (9:07 pace).

Nick and Ashley picked up the pace at the end of our run, so I pushed myself to keep up. I really love running with other people for this reason. I swear these two are going to make me a faster runner!

After the run, I refueled with Marylou’s Almond Joy iced coffee and leftover Buffalo Chicken Pizza from last night’s dinner. Clearly, proper nutrition was on my mind this afternoon.

Now, I’m heading to a friend’s bachelorette party of the night. I have a feeling it’s going to be ridiculous!!!

  5. I am so super duper pumped. I came home today with a 1st place medal for women in my age group, and we had the most registrered entrants!! A 2 mile race, I ran all two miles with not stopping and I only began running the middle/end of January of 2011.

  6. I really want to find a running group! I need some motivation πŸ™‚ Also, I think I had a dream about Marylou’s. My aunt is temporarily living in Quincy, and I won’t be able to visit by the time I get back!

  8. running groups are the only way I am motivated to pump a long run out on the weekends. nice to see that you have such a solid group to meet up with! American or English speaking runners are hard to come by in Amsterdam. Maybe I have yet to find them….!

  9. Oh those balloons are too funny. Nice job on your run, I definitely go faster when racing (because I’m running with others). It’s the only time I don’t run alone. I’d like to join the Run Club at Lifetime Fitness, just not quite yet.
