Just Another Saturday

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots β€˜N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Hi, there! 😎

My morning started like most other Saturdays: eating my usual pre-run breakfast, meeting running friends at the South Boston Running Emporium, and cranking out a long run together.

Today’s run was a 13-mile route from Southie to the Boston Common around the Charles River and back. I ran with Nick and Ashley again, and we finished in 1:58:36 (9:07 pace).

  • Mile 1: 9:35
  • Mile 2: 9:10
  • Mile 3: 9:22
  • Mile 4: 9:14
  • Mile 5: 9:22
  • Mile 6: 9:04 <””Gu
  • Mile 7: 9:11
  • Mile 8: 9:11
  • Mile 9: 9:05
  • Mile 10: 9:11
  • Mile 11: 9:05
  • Mile 12: 8:35
  • Mile 13: 8:25

Nick and Ashley picked up the pace at the end of our run, so I pushed myself to keep up. I really love running with other people for this reason. I swear these two are going to make me a faster runner!

After the run, I refueled with Marylou’s Almond Joy iced coffee and leftover Buffalo Chicken Pizza from last night’s dinner. Clearly, proper nutrition was on my mind this afternoon.

Now, I’m heading to a friend’s bachelorette party of the night. I have a feeling it’s going to be ridiculous!!!

Happy Saturday!!!

  1. That pizza looks delicious! Nice work on that run- running with faster people and keeping up always feels like such an accomplishment!

  2. Wow what an awesome run time!! I feel like it’s always raining here and haven’t ran since Monday =( Hope the bachelorette party gets crazy tonight!

  3. Sounds like a pretty fantastic day so far πŸ™‚ You are totally rocking your runs!!! I will be excited to get back into running after the peanut is born. Have fun tonight- the last picture is just awesome

  4. Happy Saturday to you as well!

What a great long run! I’m hoping to get out for 10 miles tomorrow morning. So excited for the R2R! πŸ™‚

  5. I am so super duper pumped. I came home today with a 1st place medal for women in my age group, and we had the most registrered entrants!! A 2 mile race, I ran all two miles with not stopping and I only began running the middle/end of January of 2011.

  6. I really want to find a running group! I need some motivation πŸ™‚ Also, I think I had a dream about Marylou’s. My aunt is temporarily living in Quincy, and I won’t be able to visit by the time I get back!

  7. Good thing you got your run in before the bachelorette- in guessing you will be feeling less than stellar tomo morn :)- have a fab eve

  8. running groups are the only way I am motivated to pump a long run out on the weekends. nice to see that you have such a solid group to meet up with! American or English speaking runners are hard to come by in Amsterdam. Maybe I have yet to find them….!

  9. Oh those balloons are too funny. Nice job on your run, I definitely go faster when racing (because I’m running with others). It’s the only time I don’t run alone. I’d like to join the Run Club at Lifetime Fitness, just not quite yet.

  10. Do i sense some blogging cold feet from you…? i feel like your posting has decreased a lot in the past few weeks πŸ™ maybe you are in need of some fresh inspiration or a change!
