Two of my favorite blogs, Young House Love and Healthy Tipping Point, recently posted their most useful and memorable posts from the last month. I thought it looked like a lot of fun, so I decided to steal borrow the idea. Happy August, by the way!

Most Helpful: How to Market and Promote Your Blog

IMG_0476-480x359

Toward the end of the “How to Market Your Blog and Turn It Into a Brand/Business” session, Elina asked the panel to give her some tangible examples for marketing her blog. I don’t think we ever really answered her question because we ran out of time, so here are my suggestions for what you can DO.

I’m back at it! I spoke to my running coach yesterday and he set me up with another week’s worth of workouts. Now that I’m feeling better, he wants me to get right back into training, so he has me running five day this week! Yowsahs!

Most Helpful to Runners: Marathon Fueling Q & A

Remember when I asked you guys if you had questions for Lauren Antonucci from Team for Kids about marathon training and fueling? Well, I gathered up your questions, sent them to her, and she replied to them. Check out Lauren’s responses below. She provides a ton of great information! Thanks, Lauren!

Most Helpful to Runners, Runner-up: How to Keep Your Next Run from Ending in the Port-a-Potty

HLS 342.jpg

Hi CNC readers! I’m Theodora, and I blog over at Losing Weight in the City about maintaining my 50-pound weight loss through running and healthy eating without sacrificing my fun NYC lifestyle. When Tina started having her digestive issues recently, my heart really went out to her.

Most Delicious: Culinary Tour of the North End

_MG_2904 (333x500)

Yesterday was such a treat. I spent the whole afternoon eating! I joined a small group of local bloggers to experience authentic Italy through the eyes of Bertolli by exploring Boston’s vibrant Italian culinary scene in the North End. We spent the day “serving Italy” with a tour of the best Italian specialty shops.

Most Delicious, Runner-up: Chobani Kitchen Event & Hummus Kitchen

IMG_0003 (500x375)

This afternoon, I had the pleasure of attending a lovely blogger brunch hosted by Chobani. We tasted a bunch of delicious foods made with Chobani yogurt, and then Chef Jason, the Chobani Kitchen Executive Chef, shared a number of his favorite recipes and demonstrated how to cook an easy, cheesy frittata.

Best Pug Post: Not for Pugs

IMG_0001 (375x500)

Today’s lunch was not for pugs, which greatly upset Murphy. This afternoon’s lunch was for humans, specifically my handsome husband and me! Mal is taking an online course from home this week, so we took a break from our work this afternoon to enjoy a nice lunch outisde on our back porch.

Best Pug Post, Runner-up: Today Is Going To Be A Good Day

Oh, the power of positive thinking”¦ it can do wonders for a crappy situation (pun intended). Now that I’m feeling better, I realize just how important positive thinking was for getting me through the worst of my Colitis flare.

Happiest Post: A Little Piece of Heaven

IMG_0001 (500x375)

Last week when I planned my trip New York City, I told Theodora that running in Central Park in the early morning with friends followed by a bagel breakfast was what I considered a perfect morning. I’m pretty sure I referred to the experience as “a little piece of heaven.”

Happiest Post, Runner-up: Sun Porch Progress: The Final Product

IMG_2812 (500x333)

At the end of March, I wrote a post that chronicled the progress made on our sun porch from when Mal and I first moved into our house. Basically, it went a little like this: November 2010 – January 2011: No action January 2011: Got a pair of side tables March 2011: Got a wicker bench.

Best Discussion: How Do You Deal with Judgmental Comments?

IMG_0001 (500x375)

Hi, friends! Happy Hump Day! Breakfast I woke up craving fruit juice this morning. Is that weird? We didn’t have any in the house so I went with the next best thing: fresh fruit. For breakfast, I enjoyed a nectarine, plum, a piece of toast with sunflower butter spread on top.

Best Discussion, Runner-up: Whose Responsibility Is It?

IMG_0006 (500x375)

I still can’t believe how many delicious recipe ideas I got from the Chobani Kitchen event the other day. Who knew yogurt was so versatile?! Ok, maybe I knew it was, but it’s just easier when someone gives me new recipes to try! One recipe that immediately caught my attention was for Mac ”˜n’ Cheese.

Most Controversial: Pig Party Preparations

IMG_0001 (500x375)

Warning: If you don’t want to see a dead pig and its innards, you may want to skip this post. It’s been a busy day here! Preparations are in full swing for our Pig Party tomorrow! The guys picked up the pig from a farm out in the ”˜burbs and then drove down to our house.

Most Controversial, Runner-up: Yes, I’m Still a Healthy Living Blogger

IMG_0028 (500x375)

Good morning, friends! I started my day with a random, but delicious breakfast: an egg, a banana, a Dr. Praeger’s Sweet Potato Pancake, and a glass of iced coffee mixed with Ensure, soy milk, and vanilla protein powder. Now that I can pretty much eat normally again.

Best Recipe: Skinny Piña Colada

040-500x375

Remember this insanely delicious cocktail from the other night? Well, I successfully recreated it at home! Wahoo!! This Skinny Piña Colada has nowhere near the fat and calories of a regular Piña Colada because I used coconut water instead of coconut cream and added just a splash of pineapple juice.

Best Recipe, Runner-up: Protein Pancakes

005 (500x375)

Good morning! Last night at dinner, either Brittany or Sarah mentioned that they add protein powder to their pancakes. What a great idea! Ever since I started training for the New York City Marathon and read over my Marathon Fueling Q & A, I’ve been trying to get more protein in my diet.
