A couple of hours after lunch yesterday, I had a craving for something cold and creamy””specifically, a “Bananas Foster” smoothie, which I’ve made almost every day since I created the recipe for Health.com last week. (FYI: I think it’ll be published next week.) It’s so frickin’ good. It’s basically a dessert smoothie, but the recipe calls for a couple of different flavored extracts, so it’s not crazy-high in calories, but tastes amazing. Obviously, I’m a little obsessed with it.
I took my smoothie to go because Murphy and I had places to be and people to see! Smiling seniors = best thing ever.
When we got home from visiting, I took Murphy for his afternoon walk and then finished up some work.
Snack
It wasn’t quite dinnertime yet, and Mal was at CrossFit and I didn’t want to eat without him, so I snacked on some guacamole and crackers to hold me over. While I snacked, I watched a couple of episodes of Girls.
PSA for the Comcast/XFINITY subscribers: It’s Watchathon Week!!!
From now until the end of the month, you can watch current or most recent seasons of all sorts of great TV shows, including Game of Thrones, Dexter, Duck Dynasty, Downtown Abbey, Mad Men, The Walking Dead, and Girls. Obviously, I’m going to be very busy for the next few days!
At first, Murphy was really into Girls, especially when he saw some puppies in the second episode. Like me, he thinks pug puppies are the cutest!
By the third episode, however, he was over it. The drama those girls create is exhausting.
When Mal got home from CrossFit, we planned to tackle our newest home project together:
Yep, our new fridge doesn’t fit below our cabinet. I guess that’s what happens when you impulsively buy a major kitchen appliance and don’t bother to measure anything. Oops.
Moving the cabinet up a couple of inches actually seems like a pretty easy project, but, unfortunately, our power drill is wussy and couldn’t remove all of the screws. We’re hoping we can borrow our neighbor’s drill or we’ll just buy a more powerful drill tonight. Oh, the fun of owning a home! Haha!
Dinner
Once I realized our fridge-cabinet project wasn’t going to happen, I made dinner for Mal and me. I cooked some extra spaghetti squash on Monday night when we had Chicken Bacon Alfredo, so all I had to do was add some tomato sauce, Trader Joe’s turkey meatballs, and nuke it all in the microwave. Dinner was served in less than 5 minutes!
After dinner, I snacked on some dates and a couple of handfuls of Chocolate Chex.
Mal, Murphy, and I spent the rest of the night chilling on the couch, watching TV, and, of course, watching the announcement of Open WOD 13.4. Clean & Jerks at 95 pounds… yikes!
This is a pug burrito. They smell like Fritos.
Questions of the Day
What TV show are you loving right now?
Does your pet ever watch TV?
Is there anything cuter than a pug burrito?
P.S. The code for free shipping (cnc303) on Flip Belts is only good until the end of the month (Saturday). Flip Belts are great for training runs!

My favorite is #16. Cracks. Me. Up.
LOL!! I am seriously laughing so hard right now! Thank you for that link!!
Murphy is absolutely adorable!! That smoothie looks sooo good btw! I can’t wait to see the recipe 🙂
I am loving Modern Family, The Mindy Project and The Carrie Diaries. It’s a little cheesy, but much better than I was expecting it to be!
Oh too cute!! Wish my dog would watch TV with me. I love Criminal Minds, How I Met Your Mother, and ANYTHING on the Food Network (closet foodie… maybe not so closet)
Have you and Mal ever watched “Shark Tank”? I love that show and think its awesome. You guys might like it !! It comes on Friday night though…and unlike me you guys ..have a life, ha 🙂
But dvr? or I think the reruns come on a different day. Anyway!
We haven’t, but I’ve heard it’s an awesome show. We’ll have to check it out!!
actually caught my dogs watching tv earlier today! too cute
I mostly prefer to watch the cartoon shows which keeps me energized all the time and yes sometimes my pet like to watch the TV with me specially some animal related shows.
I just realized we didn’t measure when we bought our refrigerator either! I’m glad ours fit thought because the cabinets are all connected! haha Murphy looks so cute with the blanket
I love when I come to visit your blog and see these adorable pics of your sweet dog! 🙂 Keep ’em coming! My cat watches TV, depending on what it is. A few nights ago, we were watching some PBS docmentary on birds (bad night for TV!)and she sat right up on the entertainment center the WHOLE time trying to “catch” them!!!!
Your puppy is so cute! I love his expression as he’s laying down under a blanket watching TV. I’m a big Girls fan too, although I’m up to date on episodes so I just finished watching the second season when it went off the air. Such a great show! 🙂 My cats like to watch TV too, although they are most interesting in things with high-contrast and a lot of movement, such as sports or nature shows. It’s too cute!
I just watched the two seasons of Girls in less than a week. I randomly started getting HBO and I couldn’t stop. Talk about a guilty pleasure.
Love the turkey meatballs IN the half of a spaghetti squash. It’s like a boat!
I LOVE Girls. MY other guilty pleasure is Glee- but that’s the awkward theater nerd in me talking. Downton Abbey and American Horror Story were two of my recent obsessions!
Those Hazelnut Nut-Thins are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! Seriously addictive 🙂
Right now I’m obsessed with The Walking Dead and sad that it’s almost over. Girls is great, along with Californication and House of Lies. I’m also pretty into The Following, Grimm and looking forward to Game of Thrones starting. I think I have a TV problem…
And yes, my cats ALWAYS watch TV with us!
We obsessively finished Downton Abbey (all 3 seasons) in less than 3 weeks and moved onto House of Cards. I am now into it but there aren’t any episodes left!! Beau watches TV if dogs are whining or barking…it’s so cute 🙂
That picture of Murphy laying under the blanket watching TV is so precious!
So glad I don’t have Comcast–I’m certain my butt would not leave the couch with that line-up of free shows!!
Don’t judge me, but I love watching “The Millionaire Matchmaker”! She cracks me up and love her honestly. She’s a Jersey girl…Kala isn’t typically a TV watcher. She’s usually passed out cold at my feet. 😉 Have a great weekend!
Hey Tina! qq for ya about making the fridge fit (a friend of mine just got a new fridge and hers doesn’t fit so I remembered reading about yours!) – when you and Mal moved the cabinets up, did you shift the others up too to match all the way around the kitchen? Was shifting the cabinet up really easy or should I encourage my friend to hire someone? She’s pretty handy but I figured I’d ask since you’ve done it. 🙂
We didn’t. The cabinet above the fridge is separate from the rest of them, so we didn’t bother moving the others.
