Murphy and I have been waiting all day long for “Dad” to get home from work. Mal had to stay late at school and then planned to go to the gym for a workout, so we’re waiting patiently for him. Some of us are acting more patient than others.
What’s that noise? Is that him?!?
*Sigh* It must be the neighbors.
Mom, enough with the camera. Taking pictures of me isn’t going to get him home any sooner.
Poor, Murphy. He picks his head up from the couch at every sound he hears. I hope Mal gets home soon, too. Murphy is great company and all, but I miss my hubby!
(FYI: Our living room walls are not neon yellow. I just got a little crazy with the photo editing! ;-))
Snack
I knew Mal wouldn’t be home until late, so I made myself an afternoon snack to hold me over until dinner. I had a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Scone with a bunch of strawberries on the side.
Dinner
A little while later, I started on dinner, which was Rachel Ray’s White Bean, Tuna and Potato Salad. I originally planned to make this meal last Friday night, but Mal and I ate tuna melts instead. (Neither of us were in the mood to cook.)
I like this recipe a lot. Beans and cooked potatoes always seem to add a little extra something (satiety?) to a salad. It must be all of the delicious carbs!
On the side, I had a piece of de-lic-ious homemade garlic bread. (I never understood the hype about Garlic Gold, but I now get it. Holy amazing!!)
And, for dessert, I whipped up a batch of Banana Soft Serve with chocolate chips. I have a freezer full of frozen bananas, so I figured I should try to make a dent in them.
We’re still waiting for Mal to get home. Murphy and I just want to hang out with him!
Enjoy the night, bloggies! The surprise is coming SOON!

I love your salad idea. The garlic bread looks perfect with the browning just right. It takes some time before you are perfect with it.The nutrition kept in tact while the food is light is the ideal way to go healthy.Hope you have a wonderful time with Mal.
Those scones look so impressive! I only recently started eating them but I think the pairing with the strawberries would be a winner!
my dogs do the same thing! and as soon as they see the car pull into the drive they run to the garage door and wag their tails til we walk in…too cute!
@Ella: I freeze them without the peel.
haha! He really looks like that’s what he was thinking.
I love how you can read the whole first post! It makes me more inclined to click on the older ones. Hope this is a permanent change. Love your blog!!

I love Murphy’s expressions, he is so adorable. I can’t wait to make those chocolate pumpkin scones, they look amazing!!!
I don’t know how you get anything done with Murphy around. He is so entertaining! Also, I have the same ottoman from Crate & Barrel (in red because someone bought the last black one just before I came into the store… maybe it was you?!)
@Halley @ Blunder Construction: No, we got ours when we got married over 2 years ago. Red sounds fun though! 🙂
Um. Murphy is pretty much the cutest!
Those strawberries look extra huge for some reason…monstrawberries? As in…monster?
LOL! I love when you put words in Murphy’s mouth. He is just the best!!
I just love checking in every day to see what the Murphster is up to:)
I love how excited Murphy was for him to get home. I want a dog so bad!!!!
I saw this often, but seriously Murphy is beyond adorable. 🙂 Your dinner and dessert look delicious.
