Hey, friends!
After being a little under the weather last week, thanks to strep throat (blahhh), it’s nice to be back on my A-game this week. Ok, well, like my B+ game because I never truly have it together – but, hey, I keep trying! š
I’ve loved getting your comments with products or cool finds you’ve been loving lately, so please keep ’em coming! š Today, I’ve put together a totally random (per usual) mix of food, fashion, and fitness findsĀ that I hope you enjoy checking out.
Carrots ‘N’ Cake on Healthy In Real Life Podcast – This was so fun! I loved that I had the opportunity to chat with Gina on her podcast. We chatted aboutĀ my background with health and fitness, where we think the blog world is headed, my tips for awesome abs, macro counting and coaching, my journey with Ulcerative Colitis (UC), and I answered a few readers questions sent over from Instagram. I hope you guys decide to check it out!
Stonewall Kitchen Spicy Honey Mustard – I’ve been putting this spicy honey mustard on everything lately! I’m a big fan of mustard and think it’s a great condiment to use if you are being mindful of your macros (or if you just love it like I do). It’s such a tasty pairing with shredded chicken, sausage, or used in a quickie salad dressing. This Stonewall Kitchen spicy honey mustard is seriously amazing! I actually think it would be a great way to mix up my Garlic Mustard DrumstickĀ recipe – must try soon!Ā
Nikolai Stack Heel SandalĀ – These shoes are everything! I’m seriously considering them for fall. They’d be so cute with a pair of skinny jeans – dressed up, but still casual!Ā These ones are similar and priced the same… ahh, decisions! Thoughts?
Chrissy Teigen on Instagram Stories – I love, love, love, following her account these days. Chrissy is so funny and so real in her honesty as a momma. It’s refreshing to see even celebrities have their struggles as parents, yet she manages to find the humor in life – something we all need to do more of! Her account isn’t all mom-related, so even if you just want some entertainment, she’s a great woman to follow!
Parmesan Roasted Broccoli – This broccoli recipe looks super simple and maybe even somethingĀ I could convince Quinn to eat? Maybe! I’d be fun dipped into marinara sauce, right? Pizza broccoli?Ā I’m definitely adding it to my to try list.
Vanilla Bean Collagen – Collagen is all the rage these days, and I certainly have become a big fan. I think it’s a great way to add a little extra protein to your diet, not to mention get in quality amino acids, which are building blocks for healthy skin, nails, and gut function. Not too shabby, right? You’ve seen me post a ridiculous number of photos of my morning iced coffee mixed with collagen, but this brand is vanilla flavored! It has a subtle vanilla flavor, which is the perfect addition!
The Sleep Loss and Weight Gain ConnectionĀ – This was super interesting with regard to how sleep, cortisol, and stress majorly affect weight gain (or lack of weight loss).
Ruched Body-Con Tank Dress – I’ve been waffling on this dress all summer. It’s so cute and definitely something I’d wear a ton. Even though it’s almost the end of summer, it’ll be warm here for another couple months. I should just buy it, right? Right. But what color? There are so many choices!
Carter Good on Instagram – Everytime Carter Good’s post pops up in my Instagram feed, I find myself nodding my head in agreement. He’s a fat loss coach, but unlike many “no-nonsense” accounts out there, he has a super balanced (and funny!) approach. He shares helpful infographics, facts, and realistic advice on how to have a goal while still living your life.
New headshots from Stephanie Olsen – Stephanie randomly found me on Instagram, and it turns out she lives 5 minutes away from me. She invited me to her studio for a complimentary shoot. I’ve never actually had an official headshot, so I’m glad to have these to add to my collection!
Working with Stephanie was really great. She’s super friendly and laid-back, and I really loved her home studio. She had so many amazing lighting and setting options to fit whatever style/look you’re going for. I highly recommend her! š
Question of the Day
Which shoe do you like better?
What color dress would you pick?

The Marc Fisher shoe! Itās different from what you usually see, and so stylish. Iād get the dress in the green or purple/taupe so it’s more transitional for the fall, like with a jean jacket or cardigan.
Good point!!
I love this post! Especially the B game comment! Haha
Love all these items too! I would get the green shoes pictured, so cute! And I love the dress in all the colors too, but would get the Burgundy Stem! Maybe even pair with the shoes?! Love fall clothes and colors!
Happy weekend!
Your new headshots look SO good!!
I love the shoes that you posted the picture of better than the ones with the ankle strap…the ankle strap booties seem like a pretty penny to spend on something that’s *overtly* trendy and may not have a few years’ staying power. Plus, I’m a bit of a klutz who worries about falling down and breaking her ankles whenever anything with heels is involved–and the Nikolai heeled shoes seem less like they’d constrict your ankles if something like a big epic fall-down happens. š
As for the BodyCon dress–totally get it! In the winter, imagine wearing it with a tunic-length cowl neck (or huge floppy turtleneck…) kind of sweater and opaque tights and knee-high boots, or even a jersey-knit turtleneck top under the dress for a “bodycon jumper” kind of a look and then a denim jacket thrown over top. You can totally make that work in cooler temps!!!.
Iād vote for the Nikolai heels and the teal dress š
Buy the dress! You can wear it with a cardigan and boots/booties in the fall/winter š
I love the Teal Seagate for the dress color!
I love the headshots! Your eyes really pop!
(can i just ask why you chose to wear a sports bra? Headshots are generally used in professional settings, and it’s a bummer such a good picture won’t be versatile because you are in a sports bra)
Have a great weekend!
@Anneline Smal: i think this is totally appropriate!! She talks about fitness, is a cross fit certified coach and i believe has her cert in personal training.
Looking great Tina!
i have the dress in a peachy color – I figure I could put a jacket on it for when it gets cooler. I will say that I feel a bit “bootylicious” in it though…so I did size up a bit. But I have a bit of a “bump” back there;) Yay squats and deadlifts!!!
@Jackie: yes this! I have this dress- it’s definitely tight! size up!
That tank dress is super cute (now I want one too…)–I usually would lean toward black since it’d go with everything, but the red looks nice. :] Your headshots turned out great!
Definitely get the dress! My friend and I used the stylist service at Nordstrom at the start of the summer (it’s free!) and both ended up with the dress. Then two other friends bought it as well, and we all have very different body types. It is like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Dress only better cuz we all can wear it at the same time š I really like the Leith brand for a more higher end casual vibe.
Love the B game comment- so my life!
My headshots are in fitness wear or cropped from sexy photos taken at the same shoot where I’m wearing a cardigan and lace bra. (in the headshot I send you don’t see below the shoulders so it’s just cardigan). You’ve got a great variety for different uses here too!
The sleep thing is so true- I left a job with weird hours that interfered with my sleep and lost about an inch or so from my waist within a month at the next job. No change in workouts or food. Just stress and sleep!
I bought that dress in grey! Works for summer and fall š
I love the gray!!
I LOVE the scrappy look of the heels! I love shoes like this. And I would have to go with the teal color of that dress. The color is beautiful and perfect for upcoming fall.
Also, I MUST try that hot honey mustard!!
Love those heels!!
