What I’m Loving Lately 111

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Hi, guys! Happy Friday!

I have quite the edition of What I’m Loving Lately for you! I haven’t written one in a few weeks now, so I have all sorts of goodies and fun stuff to share with you. Let’s get right to it!

Williams Sonoma Skinny Jalapeno Key Lime Margarita Mix – A friend told me about this mix, and it definitely lives up to its hype! One ounce only has 12 calories and a little goes a long way. The flavor is pretty strong with a spicy jalapeno kick! Mmm! I’ve been mixing it with tequila and lime-flavored seltzer water for a seriously delicious low-calorie cocktail – perfect for the beach, too!

Shark Tracker app – Another friend of mine told me about this free app, and it’s so cool! You can even search specific locations (i.e. Cape Cod) and sharks.

Tea Tree Clear Skin Serum – I’ve been dealing with some hormonal breakouts recently (ughhh… seed cycling is failing me!?), so I started using this “age-defying formula for acne-prone skin,” which I found on Amazon and purchased based on reviews, and I’m really happy with how well it works on clearing up blemishes. It’s made from a combo of all-star ingredients, including Vitamin C, Retinol, Niacinamide, Salicylic Acid, and Hyaluronic Acid, so it’s multipurpose. I’m a big fan!

Tea Tree Clear Skin Serum, Age-Defying formula for acne-prone skin with 20% Vitamin C, Retinol, Niacinamide, Salicylic Acid & Hyaluronic Acid for Blemish-Free, Soft, Radiant, Youthful Skin. 1oz

Dairy: Is it good or bad for you? Exploring the pros and cons of this controversial food group  – This was a super compressive article (with all sorts of additional reading) about dairy from Precision Nutrition. (Mal and I had a conversation about dairy the other day, so this came at the perfect time!)

This sweater tank from J.Crew – Adorable, right? It comes in navy, dark green, champagne, and other colors. I NEED it in my life! It’s actually 30% OFF right now with code SHOPTOIT. I might just need to make it happen! 🙂

I’m also loving this tie-strap camisole! Maybe I can find it in-store at J.Crew for Zac Brown Band this weekend? It’s the perfect concert tank top! Love.

Exploring Psychedelics with Michael Pollan (yep, the food guy) on The Joe Rogan Experience – This episode was FASCINATING. It’s definitely worth a listen – and now I want to read his new book!

4 Toxic Ingredients to Avoid in Your Personal Care Products – This is a good summary of what to look out for!

Female Hormones & Recovering from Birth Control with Dr. Jolene Brighten – This was a really great podcast episode! Dr. Brighten is definitely someone to follow. I’m on her email list and love her content – be sure to sign up!

How to Balance Hormones – More great info from Dr. Brighten. This is a round-up of symptoms with some helpful recommendations!

Enjoy the weekend, friends! 🙂

  1. Almost Friday… but not yet! Good post though! Also, Thank you for your Fitbit Versa review – I currently have the Alta and have been interested in the Versa!

  2. Speaking of your seed cycling failing you, I just got off bc after being on it for 13 years. I was really dreading it because everytime I get off to have a baby my periods come back with an awful vengeance. I came across Nettle leaf tea and it’s worked wonders for my hormones. You do have to drink a lot of it. 3 cups a day. They say the week-10 days before your period and the week of but I’ve been doing it daily. It makes the flow sooooo much lighter, virtually no bloating, only an ever so tiny cramp the first day and duration incredibly shorter. I am amazed at how well this tea has worked for me I wanted to tell you about it!! I just ordered it on Amazon, Traditional Medicinals brand!!

  3. Dairy is tricky. I do buy milk and cheese, but constantly questioning why. A female cow is impregnated and deliveries a baby in order for a whole other species to use her milk that was intended for said baby. Seems kinda crazy. Yes, most products made from dairy are delicious, but there are so many really good dairy free options now, so, again, I question why I buy dairy for the family. Just something I often think about 🙂

  4. Thanks for the link to the tea tree serum! I often have stubborn hormonal acne as well and am always on the lookout for a new product that actually works!

  5. There is not much time to do sports, (between us we are always a little lazy)
And I looked for drinks with very few calories.
