Hi, guys! Happy FRIYAY!
We’re off to Vermont for the weekend with some friends, and I couldn’t be more excited! Our only plans for the weekend are to eat, drink, and be merry. Woohoo! I’m also looking forward to celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday. Apparently, my family has some fun surprises in store for me! 🙂
So, it’s Friday and you know what that means: It’s time for the next edition of What I’m Loving Lately! Here we go!
The Hormone Reset Diet– My hormone obsession continues! 🙂 Hormones are SO CONNECTED to weight loss, so I’m especially loving this book for working with nutrition clients. I’m only about halfway through, but this book is awesome – lots of practical advice and a game plan for how to help your hormones through food and lifestyle changes. Dr. Gottfried’s other book, The Hormone Cure, is even better. I still reference it from time-to-time when I have questions.
And also from Dr. Gottfried…
What Happens to our Hormones After 35 – I always say when I turned 35 things went crazy with my hormones! This was a great article with lots of helpful info!
The Magic Pill documentary – I watched this documentary last weekend and really enjoyed it. Doctors, farmers, chefs and others weigh in on the controversial ketogenic diet and its potential to eradicate common illnesses. There’s definitely some truth behind the diet, but it’s not for everyone – carbs are so important for athletes and hormones!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Bowl – So damn good! I’ve made this treat a few times this week, and I just can’t get enough of it. It definitely satisfies a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie craving!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 ripe banana
- 1/4 cup almond meal or flour
- 1 tbsp creamy almond butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1 tbsp chocolate chips
Directions: Combine above ingredients, except chocolate chips, in a microwave-safe bowl until fully blended. Microwave for 60 seconds. Grab a spoon, stir in chocolate chips, and eat!
5 Tips That Will Make Flexible Dieting (IIFYM) So Much Easier – An oldie, but goodie blog post!
Thrive Market – We are LOVING Thrive Market! Now, I see what all the hype is about! In general, a lot of our favorite pantry products are cheaper than Whole Foods and the chicken/seafood was less expensive than ButcherBox! Are you thinking about giving Thrive Market a try? You can save 20% off your first 3 orders!
The Zakim Bridge in Boston is going to be purple for World IBD Day on May 19th – How cool is that!?! Want to help raise awareness for World IBD Day? Here are lots of ways to get involved!
Sperry Seaside Perforated Sneakers – I love these babies so much and pretty much wore them every day this week! And, right now, they’re on sale for just $52!
Question of the Day
In addition to hormones, I’m really into parenting books right now. Any favorites to share?
