Ideal Day

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Gooooood morning!! Despite the blah weather, I’m lovin’ today!

I started my morning, bright and early, at 5:01 AM for a Body Pump class with Marie and “Vicky,” and then I ate a delicious breakfast at my favorite local diner. It’s only 9:00 AM, but I’m already having quite an ideal day. 😉

Before going to the gym, I snacked on a Fiber Plus bar, which Kellogg sent me to sample a few weeks ago. I liked this bar better than most of the “fake” bars out there, but I’m not sure it’s something I’d buy. The chocolate was tasty, but there were too many hard-to-pronounce ingredients in it.

After Body Pump, Marie and I treated ourselves to a special weekday breakfast at the Wheelhouse Diner. I’m not going to lie, we were both giddy with excitement when we got there. It felt like we were playing hooky from school!

I started with hot coffee with cream and sugar.

Then, I ordered a #3, which is 2 eggs with homefries and toast. I picked rye bread because it typically has more fiber than whole wheat.

I topped my eggs and homefries with hot sauce. So delish!

This huge breakfast (with coffee) only cost $3.50! 😀

I love that today started with my favorite type of morning!

Question of the Day

Envision your ideal day. What would you do? (Money is not an issue.)

  1. I tried to spend my birthday this month acting out my “ideal day,” but the weather thwarted it. My ideal day consists of riding my bicycle around the San Francisco and basically eating my way through every neighborhood, then laying in the grass of Golden Gate park napping and reading a book. I’m not too hard to please. 🙂

  2. Ideal day…I’d wake up early, meet some girlfriends for a casual breakfast and either head to the beach for a day of sun and good reads or do some shopping….and then of course lunch and dinner out!

  3. I wish we had a Wheelhouse! That breakfast looks like just the right amount and you can’t beat the price… literally!
My ideal day begins with a starbucks latte and an egg white spinach wrap, followed by a bike ride down to the beach. Next, lounge in the spa before grilling some tasty fish and shrimp on the barbie for lunch. After reading for a while in bed, get ready and go out to a nice seafood dinner down in Newport Beach dressed to the 9’s and then be drifting off to sleep around 10. 😀 What can I say, I’m an old lady ;P

  4. I like those fiber bars because they are packed with fiber and they taste like candy bars. 🙂 I don’t feel guilty for eating one.

  5. What a fun question! I’ve never thought about it before! My ideal day would start with the hubby and I enjoying coffee & NYT in bed, and then going for a quick run on the trail before meeting up with my best girlfriends for a champagne brunch. Then I would hang out in the beach by a while and read a great book and some watermelon & strawberries (can we live near the beach for my ideal day? haha). Then, after showering & getting cute, we would all pack up a dinner picnic with wine and head over to catch a concert or musical from the lawn seats or an outdoor amphitheater 🙂

  6. Realistic: My ideal day would be being able to work out as much as i wanted and still have time to do everything else!

  7. My ideal day locally is to get up a bit late (only half an hour) grab breakfast to go and hike Mount Greylock with Hunni. Then stop at our favorite diner on the way home for lunch. Change and grab my book to read by Windsor Lake for awhile before going to dinner at the new Tapas place in the next town over. And not a single soul recognizing me (I’m not famous but everyone knows me by my job).

  8. My ideal day: summer in colorado, go on a lonnnnng run in the morning, come back and shower and get ready, eat a turkey sandwich outside on the deck for lunch with my boyfriend. Then we go hiking together for a couple hours. Come home, have a glass of wine and talk together, then make dinner and relax together in the summer evening air.

  9. Wow you are so motivated to get up that early for an exercise class!! I think on my ideal day I would go for a long run in the morning, then go shopping, meet my friends for lunch at a nice restaurant, meet my bf for coffee and cake, then catch a good movie. I would also try to fit in a bit of baking too!

  10. My ideal day would start with pancakes, for sure. Delicious whole wheat pancakes topped with lots and lots of natural peanut butter…. *drool*
Then…i’m not sure! To me mornings are usually the best part of the day. It’d probably be a VERY warm sunny day, so i’d probably head downtown to shop and walk around with friends 🙂

  11. Oh man I got lucky because yesterday was my perfect day! My BFF and I rode bikes to Chipotle for burritos, then a self serve fro-yo place (we have adventurous stomachs!), then we biked over to see Hogwarts (I live right by where they are building a new Harry Potter Theme Park!), and then we painted and watched my favorite movie, “Amelie”. 🙂

  12. Gosh .. Id enjoy a apple banana protein shake and go for a run where all the jasmine is in full bloom. Hit up a jazz festival and take lunch at Herbivore in Berkeley. Swing by the farmers market and pick up some fresh produce. On the way home hit up BevMo for some ingredients. Make some fabulous cocktails and serve up a world class vegan entree for all my fabulous friends.
