Mal and Murphy gave me a wonderful welcome home from Florida!
It involved a delicious dinner from Lime Leaf and watching a movie together last night.
Unfortunately, I fell asleep on the couch around 7:00 PM, so I didn’t watch very much of the movie. I actually ended up sleeping for 14 hours last night, which is probably the longest I have ever slept in my adult life. (Doesn’t it kind of look like I’m sniffing Murphy’s butt in the photo below? Haha!)
This morning, Mal cooked me a delicious pancake breakfast while I ran out for iced coffees.
Check out the T in my pancake. Mal is so fancy!

Do you love your new table?
I think I could only sleep that long if I was sick! Seems like you needed it.
We do! It fits the space so nicely! π
I think you have me beat at 14…I’ve hit 11, but that’s it.
Thank you so much for this kettlebell workout. I have a stress fracture – am missing the Philly marathon next week – and have been taking inspiration from you but working on weightlifting. I can’t do the burpees, but the rest makes for an awesome routine. Thanks!
are you sure thats a T? Hehe looks like something else!!
Love cuddling with my pups!! 14 hours of sleep sounds amazing π
How do you know when you are true New Englander? … you have ice coffee’s in the winter! Ha-ha. I am not sure the longest, but I can sleep for pretty long on the weekends. My body still allows me to sleep in, event though I get up early every week day.
Glad you got caught up on your sleep! Better then getting sick. Sleep is sometimes the best medicine when you have been going like you have. I have the same table! Got it on Saturday and love it!
my gosh that picture of you and murphy is adorable, I don’t think I’ve ever slept for more than 12 hours and even that might be pushing it.
Hm, I’m not sure of the exact number, but it was quite a bit when I was younger, in high school!
Awesome workout!! Looks like a killer! How many rounds did you complete? As soon as I’m over this cold I’m going to give it a go.
Wow, that’s a long time to sleep! I don’t think I’ve ever slept that long before. Probably the most I’ve slept is around 10 hours or so, but that rarely happens these days!
That sounds incredible- we haven’t gotten a good night’s sleep since Amelia was born! lol… Love that girl! π
Now I want a fancy iced coffee too!
Oh my goodness you must have been exhausted!! I can’t wait to hear all about FL! I think the longest I’ve slept since college was maybe 10 hours, you’ve got me beat!
Are you sure that is supposed to be a “T?” Look again… π
@emily: Great; I made a penis joke and messed my blog hyperlink and now I look like a total creeper!
@emily: I thought the same about the T π
Oh man. If I sleep ten hours I think that is a really long time! I couldn’t imagine sleeping 14 hours!
My record was 15 hours when I was pregnant. I couldn’t sleep enough! Now I’m lucky if I get 6 per night… boo hoo. π
Love the workout gonna try it this week!
I love the welcome home sign! π I think the longest I’ve slept was maybe 12-14 hours? a loooooong time ago, though.
I think 11-12 hours it’s the most I’ve slept at one time. It feels so good when you can get that much sleep at one time.
I’m 26 and I usually sleep 12-13 hours on Saturday night. Oops!
@Anna:
ha! that’s pretty good! wait until you’re 31… π
Sometimes after a super hectic week I can impress myself by putting away 10-12 hours on the weekend. Oops.
Oh man – I haven’t slept longer than 8 hours in almost two years (and 8 hrs is OMG because that never happens)- YAY PARENTHOOD!!!
I love sleeping in on Saturday mornings. It’s kind of my favorite. By Friday night I’m so beat and just ready to sleep for 11 or 12 hours!
I’ve slept 15 hours one night once in my adult life–and when pregnant, I regularly slept 10 hours per night!
I think I slept 16 hours once when I had mono. I bet it feels great to be home!
After Ragnar I slept for 9 hours. It was the best sleep I have had in years. I do love naps on the weekends though.
I think I regularly sleep that many hours on the weekends haha. Seriously. I love to sleep!
14 hours?! Dang, girl!! Sounds like a side effect of a fun weekend! π
14 hours is epic! Bet you feel amazing!!! Julie was saying she had two nights of 4.5 hours sleep so by the sounds of it it was much needed! Love short blast kettlebell workouts! Our workout of the week in the gym this week was a good one…
1000m row
50 burpees
50 swings (44lb)
50 squat press (2 * 17lb kettlebells)
1000m run
For time! Great fun!
I slept for 16 hours straight after returning from the states this summer! I live in France and I was seriously jet-lagged/travel tired after my holiday lol.
I think I have definitely had a 12-14 hour night before, probably after traveling.
Thanks for the kettlebell workout, I’ve been looking for a quick/efficient one! Can’t wait to try it!
What are Goblet squats?

14 hours of sleep sounds glorious!! I can’t even remember the last time I slept for more than 9 hours. I used to sleep A LOT when I was a baby (once I slept for 18 hours apparently), but as a teen, I think the most I’ve slept is maybe 11 or 12 hours.
That workout looks awesome! I love quick but intense workouts. Especially with KBs!
Sorry
Everytime you post about Limeleaf my mouth waters!! I am thinking I might have to road trip there (I live in Chatham on the Cape!) It would probably only take about 90 minutes to get there…Maybe I can convince the boyfriend to go on thursday! It looks soooo good!!!!
probably 10 max… I’m not a very good sleeper!
Such a thoughtful husband! The longest I have slept was probably around 12 hours. And I am sad to report this happened a few weekends ago! But it feels so good and needed when you wake-up the next morning!
I slept until noon this past Saturday. I didn’t even know who I was when I woke up. Haven’t done that in years but it felt pretty awesome!
I love that Mal put a T in your pancake, and as for that maple peanut butter, I’ll be buying all of that.
Maybe 12 hours when I’ve been sick, but I’m not sure. Good for you for getting 14, you obviously needed it!
14 hours, huh? I feel like you might have a little secret up your sleeve…. π
I slept 15 hours in 3 days when I was in FL, so I was pretty tired.
@Flying on Jess Fuel:
Yeah, it’s coming π
Your hubs is a sweetie. What a nice welcome home. Hope you are feeling good with all that sleep-impressive! Have no idea but don’t think I have ever slept that long.
Are you pregnant?
My dirty mind thought the T was something else…. π
The only time I slept that long was when pregnant ! Are you telling us something?!?!!?!
I agree!
I crash for 12+ hours everytime after I have a big exam, so I totally know how you feel! Everytime I’m on break and I see my family, they always comment on how much I sleep– but it’s because I can’t during the year!
Love when you share workouts like this! I’m going to incorporate this circuit into mine tomorrow in between bike intervals. I love when I sleep a lot like that. It doesn’t happen very often, but sometimes our bodies need a serious rest and you just have to give in.
Longest I can remember sleeping in my adult life is probably about 13 hours, you must have needed it. From Julie’s recaps so far it sounds like you had a great time π
after I had my wisdom teeth out I slept for 15 hours!
Sometimes it feels so amazing to sleep for as long as you want to! I think the longest I have slept in the last couple of years has been like ten hours! I miss the college days when I could easily sleep for twelve hours after a night out π
LOVE that pic with Murphy!!!!! I slept that much last year when I had the body flu – that bad season & I could not even walk or do anything – just slept nonstop…
14 hours sounds heavenly! One of my professors told us that he slept for 14 hours last week and that it was the best night of his life. I imagine if I slept that long, it would be the best night of my life too π One day…one day…
