I’ve eaten about ten cookies today, so there’s not a lot of “real” food in this post. I’ll explain why in a minute, but just know that I may never eat cookies again. (Ok, we all know that’s a huge lie, but, right now, I can’t even stomach the thought of eating another cookie. Ughhh.)
Lunch
Today’ lunch was a turkey and cheddar cheese sandwich with sliced tomato, avocado, and honey mustard on toasted whole wheat bread. I really love sandwiches; I should eat them more often.
Workout
I didn’t feel very well this morning, so I skipped my workout and took Murphy to the park after lunch instead.
Before I left the house, I grabbed my Garmin, so I could see how far Murphy and I traveled on our walk. We ended up covering a little over 2 miles in less than an hour. Not too shabby! That counts as a workout, right?
Toward the end of our walk, it started to rain, so Murphy and I ran about 0.5 mile back to the car. We finished our workout strong!
Murphy is the best workout buddy!
Back at home, I got my bake on.
I can’t tell you exactly why I spent my afternoon baking cookies, but it’s part of a recipe challenge and a really cool opportunity. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know much about cooking, but I’m an expert when it comes to baking cookies!
Hopefully, I’ll have some exciting news to share with you guys soon!
Dinner
I tasted cookies all afternoon long, so I kept dinner on the light and salty side. I needed some sodium to even out all of that sugar!
I’m off to relax and catch up with my DVR. My husband pointed out that I’m hogging it with ten unwatched episodes of Ellen. I better get on it!

Yeah…um…I ate waaaay too much candy today. So I’ve been snacking on salty cooked tofu all afternoon. So I can feel your stomach ache. But those cookies do look delicious. White chocolate chip cookies might be my favorites.
G’luck in whatever you’re doing!
Baking is the perfect rainy day activity Oh man, I can definitely relate to your feelings about never wanting to eat cookies again… been there, done that! And then the next day, I always want another cookie. I’m quite the cookie monster. Love ’em all.
Curious to know about your cookie experiment! Funny how our bodies crave salty after so much sweet – happens to me everytime!
that “never eat cookies again” feeling never lasts more than a few hours with me… hmm. wonder why.
I remember one time baking 7 layer magic bars for my friends one time and eating half the batch in 10 minutes. Holy stomach ache!!
Eggnog white chocolate chip cookies? Could it be? If so, I think it’s a winner already. They look really tasty.
Maybe! 😉
Haha I know what you mean about never wanting a cookie again! I feel that way after eating too much of one thing. I hope they turned out great though!
Ugh, I hate the “I ate too many cookies” feeling!!!
Are you including the Matt Damon cookies? Because I want in on that 🙂
Hmmm cookies! Can defs relate to that feeling… 🙂
I feel like I’m the exact opposite. I’m not sure what the heck I’m doing when I bake, but cooking I can handle!
Cookies!! Can’t wait to see what you’ve got going on!
I’m curious to see what you’re doing, but the cookies look great!
And I love your other post about what you’ve learned from your marathons. I’m learning through running that I am more athletic than I ever thought I was! 🙂
I see white chocolate chips, and that’s all I need to know to be sure I’d love them!
And for sure counts as a workout! Plus you got to do it with a cutie pug.
pretty sure we all have those days!! hoping for good news 🙂
I’m intrigued by the chickpeas it looks like you baked with…I love chickpeas for hummus…so chickpeas in cookies sounds like a god idea too!
Hmm.. not sure what kind of cookies you made but they look really good!! Can’t wait to hear about it!
Completely unrelated to this post (and cookies), but where did you get those shoes? Are they Toms? It’s hard to tell from the photo but they look super cute!
They’re Sanuks. Super comfy!
@Tina: I have two pairs of Sanuks and LOVE them!!!!! I just got my 2nd pair a month ago and they have the fur inside – perfect for winter!!
If the cookies are sitting in your stomach, they must be real food. I don’t think you can ingest fake food.
Tangible = real.
I’m not a baking expert, or cookie expert, but I am an EATING expert, and do I spy, with my little eye, Egg Nog cookies with white chocolate chips? I need to try these. (Praying for some sort of giveaway involving said cookies so I don’t have to bake them because I am an eater not a baker)
Workout with Murphy, and baking cookies, yum, sounds like a great afternoon! you rock!
Are those chickpeas I spy?! Interesting. I can’t wait to read more!
I hate that feeling after eating too many sweets. I usually try to counteract it a little by drinking tons of water and eating a giant bowl of kale or something. And then the next day I want more cookies. It’s a vicious cycle.
Same here!
Sounds like a great afternoon to me! I know what you mean about overloading though!
Haha, this made me laugh because cookies was pretty much my diet today too. Some days it just happens… 🙂
Agreed! Tomorrow will be healthy! 🙂
Ah! Can’t wait to hear what the news is! I love baking so any challenge that would require me to do so sounds A-OK to me 🙂
I got kind of sick of sandwiches after having them for lunch every day all summer. But, for some reason, seeing it cut in four pieces in your picture made a sandwich seem way more appetizing 🙂 I may be eating a sandwich this weekend (cut into four pieces, of course).
Four pieces is way more fun! 🙂
I know I made two batches of cookies this week, one super duper healthy and one not so healthy, and I couldn’t stay away! The batter kills me,I want that more then the actual cookie. I know it’s not good, with raw egg, but it’s cookie dough! I’ve been practicing myself, I’m in the Cookie Swap, are you?
I’m not Cookie Swaping with these ones, but I might make them for a Cookie Swap next month!
I love raw cookie dough– raw eggs and all! 🙂
Eggnog and chickpeas? I’m intrigued!
your cookies look great! I just relinked some that are white chocolate, peanut butter, and oatmeal, and butterscotch chips thrown in there too…i am loving the looks of yours. That’s MY kinda cookie!!!!!
I don’t have much of a sweet tooth (although I’ll make an exception for boiled sweets, which I love), so I can take or leave cookies, but your sandwich is making me hungry!
…And, um, please tell me there aren’t chickpeas in those cookies!
Those cookies look delicoius!! Btw, this is random but I’ve never seen someone cut their sandwiches like you do! It’s cute, though, I might try cutting mine that way next time 😀
The cookies look awesome—pretty much everyone has written or almost written a post with that blog post title you just used 😉 Hah.
That is quite the weird/interesting/new way to cut a sandwich! kinda cute!
Those cookies look waaay too good.. Can definitely relate – I think we all have one of those days, I’m sure I’d come pretty close to ten as well !!
I don’t blame you – those cookies look FAB!
I can’t wait to have a pug training buddy! Soon, soon.
I have problems in my hip that come on when I run longer distances and I think I may have the same condition as you. My injury is hard to locate – it feels very internal at the joint and is only on one side. I’ve also had physio and acupuncture, both of which were good short term but never prevented the injury from returning. Reading your post has made me realise that I used to routinely visit a Chiropractor for ‘re-alignment’ of my spine every month and whilst I was doing so never experienced the hip pain! Think I need some chiro sessions in before the Paris marathon in April!
I’m on Amsterdam time and so always the last to comment! 😉
…one other thing. I always cut my sandwiches that way, comes from my Irish mother I think!
Interesting post, I am so glad that I have visited your site. Such a wonderful time reading this.
Yum; the cookies look delish!!
Those cookies look yummy – I would definetly eat too many too!
Your doggy,Murphy, is adorable!
ooo. Can’t wait to hear about the cookie recipe challenge. Did you find a winning cookie?
Those cookies look delicious! Can’t wait to read about the cookie challenge! 🙂
THere is nothing wrong with taste-tasting 😉
I love it all and can’t wait to hear more. I always need opportunities to like extra batter off the beaters, spoon, and um, yeah, straight our of the bowl.
I had to laugh at your DVR comment. My husband can leave our kitchen with crumbs and dishes everywhere, but heaven forbid our DVR have extra stuff on it no one has watched for awhile. I often have to remind him what a DVR is for…
*To Lick extra batter….@Andrea L:
Tina
What park is that where you took Mr Pug? We look for new places to take our Chocolate Lab to all the time 🙂
Brooke
@Brooke: Bare Cove Park!
@Tina: That is one of Moose’s favorites but we don’t go often because I hate the drive from downtown Boston there 🙂 always traffic
I lived near Littelton, I bet we’ve crossed paths at some sporting events, you graduated in 99 right?
@Heather B: oops, I meant to post this on your post from today
@Heather B: 98!
Hmmmm…. I generally avoid sandwiches because they don’t seem as satisfying to me but your sandwich sounds really delicious. 🙂
So are you taking a break from baking cookies and maybe trying other baked goods? I’d love to see recipes!
Oh the ” i’m so stuffed, why did i do that??” feeling.. been there.. but when the sugar overload subsides it also tends to make me forget that i vowed never to do it again.
I love baking, but its always a problem with what to do with all the goods afterwards. If i’m hoping to be good and semi-healthy then i can’t leave all of the goodies lying around for my hubby to eat them all in one night… not that thats happened before 😉
Those cookies look amazing!! Definitely inspiring me to get in the kitchen and bake something…=)
Tina, on what basis do you decide to delete certain comments? If they’re not insulting or vulgar – and they just point out a truth or POV, why is it okay to delete comments in a forum that is supposedly open?
I delete comments that are spam, insulting to me or other commenters, or comments that are just plain obnoxious and mean-spirited. I just don’t want that type of negativity on my blog.
Oh, I am with you on the cookies. My roommate baked peanut butter snicks cookies last night. Put peanut butter in anything and I’m sold.
