I’m so excited to visit New York City this weekend! The Big Apple is one of my favorite cities, and I’ve enjoyed so many wonderful times there over the years:

  1. I’ve only been to NYC once, but it was a birthday surprise trip to go see a private cooking demonstration with Rachael Ray! It was amazing!

  2. I LOVE NYC! My mom was born in Queens, and my grandparents owned a cheese market in Brooklyn for a long time…I grew up going to see the Rockettes every Christmas and picking out toys at F.A.O Schwartz. I love the vibrancy of the city, and that it truly never sleeps! Also, street vendor pretzels are a gift from above. just sayin’….. 🙂

  3. cute pictures Tina! Hmmm I did for like, 2 days when I was about to come to the U.S. to move for good. All I remember is KFC and throwing up in my dad’s friend’s car. hahahha! ohhh..still feel bad for that btw. oh! And the Statue of Liberty?

  4. I spent the 3 days surrounding my 18th birthday enjoying NYC. My favorite activity was seeing Angela Lansbury perform in Mame on Broadway. Such a thrill at that age and I still love musicals.

  5. I love heading down to NYC! It’s just a quick train ride for me, and I really should do it more often. One year, my friend and I went down to see a taping of the Martha Stewart show, followed by dinner in Little Italy. That was a fun trip! 🙂

  6. I got my undergrad degree at NYU (theater geek-er-major), and I LOVE NYC!!!
My roommate and I used to walk everywhere: we lived in Greenwich Village and would walk to midtown, or go south and over the Brooklyn Bridge.

  7. My favorite part about NYC is Ellis Island. If you ever have a chance to take a tour you should! (And the audio tour is pretty awesome!)

  8. I went to New York with my sister when I was 14 and she was 12. We were staying over Easter with my mom’s best friend- this was 13 years ago! We got the trip for a Christmas present.

I still have such fond memories of going to the ‘mall’, to the Empire State building and to the Friends shop or something (we were never allowed to watch it much at home!). I also tried Cookie Dough ice cream for the first time- and my sister was obsessed with watching Jerry Springer haha- we did not have it on TV over here then!!

That was my first and only time to America- but I would LOVE to go back to New York soon!

  9. NYC is the love of my life! 🙂 seriously I love that city as if it was a person and I miss it do much! 🙂
It has a special place in my heart since nov. 4th 2009 as well since my husband and I got married on the Brooklyn Bridge! The best day/week of my life 🙂
    best city in the world!

  10. I love NYC – I went with some girl friends for a weekend and we had a blast. I would love to go explore some areas outside of Manhattan someday. Although my fiance and I both prefer Boston to NYC, we would love to take a trip there to eat at all the fabulous restaurants!

  11. Welcome to NYC again 🙂 I live here, but from the pictures above, looks like you’ve done many cooler things than me! I can’t believe you got to meet Rocco and Cake Boss. WOW!

Good luck in the race this weekend. Live near Central Park and will try to walk over there to watch you run. Enjoy your time here.

  12. I’ve only been once but one thing that I really loved (besides the awesome food, incredible shopping, and culture) was that everything was within walking distance. I would love to someday live in a walking city.

  13. Currently my favorite thing about NYC is that my best friend lives there 🙂 But other than that, there is so much of EVERYTHING everywhere you go! I can’t imagine that you’d ever get bored there. Also, Central Park is beautiful!

  14. i grew up in jersey, right outside of the city, and spent many years commuting into the UWS b/c i sang at the metropolitan opera’s children’s chorus. then, after college i lived there for 7 years. i’m going back on monday to visit my folks, and i don’t feel the tug to go. although i love NYC, it’s not the same now that i don’t live there. i don’t like going as a tourist.

    1. Yay Gina! I went to NYU and am forever grateful I had four years in one of the best cities on the planet (and I’ve traveled tons).

  15. My dad is a native of Manhattan (was born and raised upper east side) and all his family still lives there, so I’ve spent a lot of time in the city over the years. It’s always a fun place to visit! Not sure I’d ever want to live there though. I need space and grass.

  16. I adore NYC. I used to live in Astoria, and the best thing about the city in general is the ENERGY! There is always somewhere to be, something to do, and fun new people to meet! I adore people watching, strutting down the street, finding a hole-in-the-wall bite, strolling Central Park, and many sweaty dance classes at STEPS.

  17. I just went to New York over Christmas this year and absolutely loved it!! If you’re in the area I highly suggest The Grey Dog if you haven’t already been. It on University Place just past Union Square and it’s honestly given me the best soup i’ve had in ages. Served with OLIVE FOCCACIA which is to die for. Hope you get to experience it!!

  18. I’ve only been to NYC twice and both were in the winter time, so it was freeeeeeeezing! I can’t wait to go back when it’s warm =)

  19. would LOVE to go to NYC, I am in Australia so a little distance for us…but the dollar so good at the moment!!!
