I saw this quote the other day, and it really resonated with me:
“The comeback is always stronger than the setback.”
I know we’ve all had highs and low with regard to our fitness journey, so I wanted to share some of mine that immediately come to mind.
My lowest fitness lows:
Barely recovered from a flare, I decide it’s a good idea to run a half marathon. I pretty much crawl over the finish line with exhaustion.
During a favorite CrossFit workout, I feel pain in my lower back, but continue to work out because I don’t want a “DNF” (did not finish). I end up in the ER later that night.
My highest fitness highs:
I participate in my first CrossFit competition (which was a high itself!) and complete 50 Hang Power Snatches at 75 pounds. Prior to the competition, I didn’t *think* I could even do one. I definitely surprised myself!
Turning right on Hereford, left on Bolyston and crossing the finish line of the Boston marathon – one of my lifelong goals. I even finish with negative splits!
As cheesy as it might sound, fitness is a journey, not a destination. Through all the highs and lows, you’re allowed to cry and scream or do whatever you need to do to deal (been there, done that), but you’re not allowed to give up. If anything, start again and come back stronger!

I Finally Bought THE Jacket
Guys, I really wanted this jacket from L.L. Bean all last year, but it was always sold out when I went to order it. (I ended up buying this more affordable option instead, which I liked but wasn’t super high-quality.) It’s technically backordered right now, but only until 8/16, so I’ll definitely have it in time for fall! I just hit purchase and couldn’t be more excited! 🙂
And (!!) I got free shipping and saved 25% off with code SAVE25!
Related: I’m also in love with the Signature Fleece Pullover, which is ON SALE right now, but there’s limited sizes. If you want it, HOP ON IT ASAP!

Question of the Day
What’s your highest high and lowest low when it comes to fitness?
