High Low High from the Week

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Hi, guys! Happy Friday!

What a weird week. Nothing bad happened, but I feel like there were a lot of highs and low for me. Obviously, I’m all about keeping it real on CNC, and I figured it would be a good way to fill you guys in on what’s happening with my life lately, so here’s a High Low High post from the week. And, of course, I’d love to hear how your week went. Please feel free to share in the comment section below!

HIGH: Hiring and getting FOUR new coaches up and running at DTFN. We’re officially a team of SEVEN. Holy cow! And these ladies are the freakin’ best. We’re so excited to have them! We’ll introduce them over the next few weeks via DTFN social media and blog, so keep a look out.

WHOLEFOODS (62 of 65)

LOW: My GI doctor leaving MGH to pursue research. Ugghhhhh. You guys know how much I love my doctor (and I *might* have been drinking wine when I found out), so there were definitely some tears shed. I know I’m in good hands at MGH, but my doctor was truly the best. So sad.

HIGH: Qman passing his recent Early Intervention assessment with flying colors. He’s made such great strides in the past year, so he no longer qualifies for services, and we couldn’t be happier! EI for the win! 🙂

HIGH: New DTFN software updates! Woohoo! Our goal is to make the software better and better for our clients and coaches, so I’m pumped to see Phase 2 rolling right along!

LOW: Receiving the Ralph Lauren Janis in the mail, loving them (they’re so much cuter in person), but, unfortunately, they didn’t fit. Whomp whomp. I ordered my usual size 7, but they were much too big. It’s a bummer too because they were only $40!

HIGH: My Sperry Top-Siders arriving a few days later and fitting perfectly! FYI: They run small (according to Zappos reviews), so I ordered a half size up (7.5), and they’re just right.

Speaking of spring fashion…

HIGH: I finally purchased my spring jacket! And it only took me two months decide! Haha! As soon as I saw this bomber jacket, I was in love. The fabric is super soft, and I love its casual/sporty look!

HIGH: Graduating Physical Therapy! Woohoo! I had my last appointment on Tuesday.

HIGH: Feeling well enough to return to Orangetheory and having a really great workout!

LOW: My hip being sore this morning. Wah. Too much, too soon.

HIGH: Finding a new low sugar bar from Kashi (9g per serving) for Qman!

LOW: Qman only kind of liking them. He’ll eat the Kashi bars (if it’s that or nothing), but he prefers his “soft bars” from Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods.

Speaking of Whole Foods…

HIGH: CNC and DTFN got a shout out in the spring issue of the Whole Foods Market magazine! 🙂

Question of the Day

Your turn! Please share a HIGH and a LOW from your week!

P.S. This round-up on Buzzfeed had so many amazing product ideas for meal prep! This salad cutter bowl is GENIUS, and I totally want an Instant Pot! If you have an Instant Pot, please tell me about it. It’s basically a fast cooking crock pot, right?

  1. Oh sounds like you have a good week really apart from your doctor moving on. I think I would be the same if mine moved.
My high for the week is getting out for 3 runs and the gym and not having a headache in the last two days.
Lows have to be starting the week with terrible headaches and having to adjust my medication that I was hoping to come off 🙁 but at least I feel better for the weekend.

  2. I really like your shirt with the yellow elbow patches!
High for the week: completing my 11 mile run and felt great. Low: several tragic situations at my kid’s schools this past week.
That salad cutter bowl is great!

  3. Love those flats! I give my son larabars a lot. He seems to enjoy them but would rather eat handfuls of Annie’s cheddar bunnies! High for the week… the forecast for Boston! Did you see 70, maybe 80 next week?! Low, my son was sick all week but seems to be feeling better!

  4. Congrats on DTF growing! My high was starting my new job and loving it! And the weather is predicted to hit 70 degrees this weekend – whoo hoo!

  5. Congratulations on your business doing so well!

My high – going back to Pure Barre class.
My low – awful news about Syria.

I’ve had hip pain since last May – I’ve had a cortisone shot and and MRI and it was diagnosed as hip tendonitis and inflamed medial gluteus. Anytime I start up with cardio, it aggravates it, pretty much can only do the elliptical 1-2x a week. What was your diagnosis? My sister goes to Orangetheory and just loves it.

  6. Aww I’m in physical therapy too. Congrats on graduating! Hope you’re 100% soon. 🙂 My high is that my back is feeling a lot better. My low is the weather still being cold in NYC.

  7. Hehe i like the highs and lows post layout! SO awesome you’ve hired more coaches. Very cool and impressive. I LOVE Your spring jacket! I just got a camo one, but loving the pure olive too.

  8. Do you guys hire locally or any opportunity in the future for remote coaches? What a fun company you’ve built to help others out!

      1. Awesome! I’m finishing up my degree, I’ll have to keep your company in mind once I graduate if you’re still looking for coaches

  9. A definite high for me this week was finding the brand of leggings I love for a great price on Amazon! I had no idea they sold them on Amazon, but I sure am glad I found out! I ordered three pairs and they just arrived yesterday, a week earlier than anticipated!

  10. i love that bomber jacket! I may just have to buy it. I really need a good pair of spring shoes and booties. my toms are kind of trashed at this point…

high from the week: my achilles heel pain randomly going away after taking advil, using compression, and stretching
low from the week: being swamped at work! not really a low- i like being busy- but i am more than ready for the weekend

  11. Isn’t that always how it goes? The minute I’m cleared for activity I’m ready to head back full force and my body is like ARE YOU INSANE? WE JUST FINISHED PHYSICAL THERAPY! TOTALLY BEEN THERE! This week seems like a blur my high is that today is Friday, low is that my shoulder is still bothering me, and high is that tonight I have a fun dinner to go to. I have no idea what happened this week ha ha

  12. Congratulations on the coach expansion and company growth! Just curious, do you have to correct people that it’s DTFN not just DTF? 😉 hehe.

Loving those Sperry’s and will be watching online to see if they go on sale! They’re cute for spring and summer.

  13. Sorry to hear about your doctor moving! My 3 yr old has a chronic kidney condition and when her doctor moved on to a new place I cried too!

  14. High: awesome week for my business
Low: my face is swollen from a nasty sunburn. The one day I don’t wear a hat surfing!

  15. I LOVE THOSE SHOES. I’ve been eyeing Toms lately. I know I’m 800 years late to the party, but I think it’s time to order a pair! A low of my week was rushing my dog to the vet for ingesting dark chocolate while at a Rover. It was horrible, and needless to say, we will never use this Rover sitter again! The high of my week was getting to spend a wonderful five days in L.A. with one of my best friends. We enjoyed plenty of sunshine, wine, and girl talk, and it was just what I needed after an incredibly stressful week!

  16. Earth’s Best makes a really low sugar cereal bar that my son loves. I think they’re on the small side tho so they’re best for just a snack. And they have Sesame Street on the box 😉

  17. I think we had the same doc at MGH (Dr. Yajnik), and I was so upset when I found out too. I had been with him for almost 10 years since my Chron’s escalated while in college, and he was the best. Dr. Garber over there is now my doc, and I had a really great first appointment with him recently, which put me much at ease! If you can switch to him, I’d recommend it 🙂

  18. I have an InstantPot, and really like it. It’s an electronic pressure cooker, but can also work as a slow cooker, or a sautée pan – which is nice if you need to pre-cook ingredients before hand. I’ve made chicken, chili, and beef – all turn out great. 🙂

  19. I feel for your hip! I am struggling with chronic hip pain and have been in and out of PT for last few years. Originally thought to be a tear in my labrum from overuse (running…) but mri analysis leaned towards an impingement vs tear. I haven’t had a recent mri to see if anything has changed. Is there anything from PT that really helped you? Certain exercises, ultrasound, pelvic floor strengthening….? Any thoughts are appreciated!

I love my instapot. I use it to home cook dog food (whole chickens), make bone broth, cook 5 lbs sweet potatoes in 15 min, make 1 cup dry rice in 6 min….it’s great!
