I started my morning with my favorite breakfast of all time: banana oatmeal. Also in the mix: soy milk, walnuts, chia seeds, and a big scoop of Teddie Peanut Butter.

I also drank a glass of iced coffee with soy milk. This batch is Starbucks Natural Fusions Caramel Coffee and it is sooo delicious. There’s no need for sugar””just a splash of soy milk and it’s perfect!

Feel Great Weight

In a perfect world, we’d all make whole wheat pasta from scratch and grow fresh tomatoes in our own backyard. However, we do not live in a perfect world. That’s why prepackaged foods make so much sense””as long as they’re a healthy addition to your diet.

The folks at asked registered dietitians and food bloggers (including me!) for their favorite new and healthy packaged foods. They tasted them and then compiled a list of their top choices. Check out my contribution in their slideshow!

  1. My packaged food weaknesses are:
    almond milk
    tomato sauce
    canned beans

    I usually make my own beans, but sometimes, they’re so convenient sitting there just waiting to be opened and warmed up. I’ve been making my own almond milk and have canned my own tomato sauce, but sometimes, you’ve just got to get it ready made!

    I try not to buy anything else packaged though, if I can help it. My food bill is a lot cheaper that way!

  2. Cereal is probably the biggest packaged food I would use, ie muesli, porridge etc other than that, I am fresh, fresh, fresh produce all the way! Infact, you have me hooked on baking all my veges. I throw all my veges in oven and have for lunch the next day…I am addicted, can’t get enough!

  3. My to die for “packaged” food is a sort of packaged one… at our local Whole Foods Co-Op they make a chickenless chicken salad that is unreal! I love it!

    However I detest and think it should be outlawed Hamburger Helper. I’m not even sure what’s in it.. but unfortunately you can sometimes find one in my cupboard. NOT FOR ME.. .but my man swears it’s the best stuff ever (I give up sometimes on him LOL) and as a “treat” .. don’t even ask… I fix Hamburger Helper for him (and he gets leftovers in his lunch) and something like a Veggie Burger with the works for me. I can’t even stand to cook that HH stuff. It seriously turns my stomach. I’ll never understand why anyone would eat it!!!! We joke that the guys at the shop always have “Lunch Envy” cuz I cook such great foods & he gets leftovers… and he’s probably the only guy at the shop that has to beg his wife to PLEASE MAKE Hamburger Helper!!!! LOL
