Healthworks really knows how to throw a party!
Last night, along with 19 other bloggers, I was invited to Healthworks’ first ever Blogger Bash at their Back Bay location. When I arrived, I changed into my workout gear and then enjoyed a light snack of virgin RIPE cocktails and Pop Chips. I ended up drinking some coconut water too.
We also got hooked-up with the most amazing swag bags!! Inside was a City Sport t-shirt, sports bra, Healthworks hat, 50-minute massage, free haircut, spray tan, Mad Hectic oatmeal, Siggi’s coupons,Luna bars, a gift certificate for a Zyrra bra, and TONS of coupons. Totally awesome.
Then it was time for spin class!
Spin class kicked my butt! Within 10 minutes, it knew it was going to be a tough ride. I haven’t taken a spin class in probably a good year or so– I always found them sort of boring, but this class was great. Eden, the instructor, had us up and down and sprinting non-stop for 45 minutes. There wasn’t a single lull in the class. I actually think I might start incorporating spin into my usual workout routine. It’s a tough workout and it doesn’t hurt my hip at all.
After class, we showered and prettied ourselves for a night out on the town. I snacked on a bag of BBQ-flavored Pop Chips while we waited for the whole group to get ready. Pop Chips = crack.
Bloggers ready for a night out on the town! 😀
Then, we departed via T for Alibi at the Liberty Hotel.
It was an adventure: 20 bloggers + gym bags + swag bags.
We took up a lot of space on the T. Quite the scene! 😉
A short while later, we arrived at the Liberty Hotel. I had never been, so I was excited! 😀
Alibi Bar and Lounge is a the loungy space inside Boston’s Liberty Hotel, once the Charles Street Jail. Alibi plays up its former life, with floors that have the original markings where the cells used to be, and solid brick walls that alternate with prison bars.
Alibi is a really funky space.
Hi, Paris!
For dinner, we enjoyed a spread of pizzas, salads, and appetizers from Scampo in the hotel. All of it was delicious. I had two pieces of the classic tomato, mozzarella & basil pizza. The tomatoes reminded me of summer! 😀
RIPE and Double Cross Vodka supplied the cocktails for the evening. I’m a HUGE fan of the RIPE Bloody Mary mix (as seen here), so I went with one of those to start. Check out the garnish! Pretty fancy, huh? I loved it!
I also had a few bites of citrusy tuna tartare.
My second (and third) drink of the evening was a strawberry-basil cocktail made with RIPE sour mix. It was fantastic! I want this recipe!
A little while later, I ate another piece of pizza: bufala ricotta, fontina & smashed green asparagus. Also, delicious.
My third drink of the evening was another strawberry-basil cocktail, but I only drank about 2/3 of it. I was pretty drunk at that point in the evening. 😳 I’m such a lightweight now-a-days!
I always seem to forget to take blogger photos at these events, but I managed to snap a few before heading out the door. You might recognize some of these ladies! 😉
Ali!
Leslie! She’s in town from Philly. It was so great to meet her! 😀
Leslie + Ali.
I’m off to Body Pump! Be back later for a breakfast post with some fun updates!
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!
