Guess Who Has a New Home?

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots β€˜N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Not me! My mom is a new homeowner!!!

She doesn’t get the keys to her new trailer until next week, so we peeked into the windows. Here’s my mom giving my sister a “tour” of the master bedroom! πŸ˜‰

I’m so excited for my mom!! But, now she’s faced with the challenge of “downsizing” from a 2,000 square foot house (that has acquired 20+ years of stuff)Β to a trailer half the size.

This morning, my sister and I went to my mom’s house to take theΒ crap things that we’ve left at her house over the years– like old textbooks, high school yearbooks, photo albums, random clothing, etc.

My sister and I filled an entire truck with our junk!! 😯

While going through the attic at my mom’s house, we stumbled upon lots of old school toys from our childhood. My sister and I got a kick out of seeing them after all of these years.

I remember thinking I was SO cool using this Popples lunchbox in elementary school!

Here’s my very first camera from Fisher Price! πŸ˜€

I was destined to be a blogger! πŸ˜‰

We also found some really neat stuff– like my great grandfather’s porcelain license plate and a drinking glass from the 1981 Kentucky Derby that my mom attended.

I helped my mom for a few hours and then headed to my sister’s house for a late-lunch/early dinner. I was famished and immediately dug into the appetizers.

My sister’s guacamole was fabulous! She added black beans, red onion, and corn to the mix.

I also enjoyed my first pumpkin beer of the season! After running seven miles and helping my mom pack for a few hours, it tasted sooooo amazing!

My sister also made a rice bake with black and white beans, onion, and crumbled feta.

For dessert, I brought a bunch of Zucchini Chocolate Chip Cookies to share. Of course, I ate a few! πŸ˜‰

While we ate, these two clowns played in the yard.

Eventually, they wore themselves out.

Pooped pug!

Mal and Murph are waiting to watch a movie with me. We’re chilling on the couch tonight.

Hope you had a nice Saturday!

  1. I had the same camera and burger toy. I loved Popples and My Little Pony, In fact, I still have a 20 some odd year old My Little Pony sleeping bag and a Rainbow Brite doll. I love my 80s toys!! Thanks for sharing.

  2. I had SO many of those same toys! I loved the fisher-price camera… I even upgraded that one at the ripe old age of 9 to the heftier blue and black model that took that same 110 film… and I stole my sister’s McD’s hamburger toy πŸ™‚

  3. Was that rice bake vegetarian? It looks really good! As did the guacamole.

Would you possibly be able to post those recipes?

  4. I love looking at old stuff πŸ™‚ It’s fun seeing things you had forgotten about and having the memories come back.

Also, I second the request for the rice bake recipe! It looks really tasty!

  5. Oh my gosh, I had the same McDonald’s Happy Meal toys! Too funny! I love finding old stuff like that….brings back such memories. : ) Good luck to your mom on her move.

  6. OMG, I totally had that hotcakes toy! I probably had the other ones as well, but for some reason the hotcakes one really sticks out in my mind.

Congrats to your mom on her new place!

  7. Congrats on your mom getting a new home!

Is the raffle for the banner ending Today Sunday or did it end friday? Your post says Sunday the website says Friday.

  8. Loved the little piece of automotive history! I would put that up in my office!

Your sisters rice and bean casserole looks awesome — when I first saw it through my hazy contacts it looked like chocolate chip coconut bars… yummmmmm!!
