Granny Panties

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

It’s my first night in Chicago and I’m wearing my granny panties. I had a great time meeting and hanging out with blog friends, but this old lady definitely needs her sleep. The Healthy Living Summit starts tomorrow, so I want to be well-rested and energized.

For dinner this evening, I had the pleasure of visiting Chicago RAW Food.

R.A.W. stands for Raising Awareness Worldwide and the mission is to make a change to the way people eat.

Raw is located in the Chicago French Market and offers a wonderful menu of fresh, raw foods, including salads, sandwiches, smoothies, and desserts. Oh, the desserts!

Diana contacted the owners of Raw ahead of time, so we were treated to a special tasting this evening.

The owners, Polly and Carole, were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

And they were more than happy to tell us about what Raw has to offer.

And, of course, being food bloggers, there was plenty of photo snapping during the tasting! 😉

We sampled six different goodies from the Raw menu, including Falafel patties Sandwich on Onion Flatbread, Egg Salad on Sprouted Wheat Bread, a Lemon Square, and Hazelnut Biscottis. All of which were soooo delicious!

We also tried a sample of raw lasagna, which was amazing! So much flavor!

My favorite of the bunch, however, was the Lemon Square!

I also purchased Raw’s Signature Carrot Muffin. I mean, I had to try it! 😉 I ate half and saved the rest for tomorrow morning.

Bloggers at Raw!

After dinner, we headed to the YumUniverse launch party.

The event was held in a swanky art space Chicago’s hip Pilsen neighborhood.

Blog friends: Katy, Gracie, me, and Gabriella! These ladies are great!

The event offered cold water in glass jars and vases, which was very cool and environmentally-friendly! Cheers! 😀

I enjoyed the event, but my bed was definitely calling my name. I ended up grabbing a cab with some other bloggers and heading back to the hotel early.

It’s way past Grandma’s bedtime. Good night!

  1. It all looks amazing! And I too am a BIG fan of making sure I get all the sleep I need, and always have been! It took until college for “staying up late” to mean later than 9:30 or 10!
