I slept so well last night. I guess that’s what running 18 miles and drinking half of a bottle of champagne does to you!
I woke up around 8:00 with oatmeal on my mind. I made pumpkin oats with canned pumpkin, raisins, walnuts, chia seeds, and a big scoop of Teddie peanut butter. It was just what I wanted. I slowlyĀ savored my breakfast while catching up with my favorite blogs this morning.
I also drank a glass of eggnog-flavored coffee with breakfast.
After breakfast, I got down to business. I have a busy week ahead of me, so spent most of the morning tackling my To Do list, which included buying a new pair of sneakers.
When I first started marathon training, I got a new pair of sneakers (New Balance 759), which I immediately fell in love with. They’re lightweight, supportive, and have carried me through many weeks of training. The 759’s are one of the best sneakers I’ve ever owned. But, nearly four months later, they’re starting to get really worn out. I’m just about at the end of training, so I really don’t want to take a chance getting injured because of old sneakers. So, this morning, I scoured the internet for the best deal I could find on these babies.
Thanks to the powers of Twitter, Heather told me about a great website called Running Warehouse that has all sort of amazing deals, including the 759’s, which were $30 cheaper than I found elsewhere. AND I got free shipping as well as a free long sleeve running shirt with my order. Best website ever! š
I really love a good deal. I’m in the best mood now!
Back to work I go!

I live in AZ and am excited that you are making the trek to run your marathon here. It is so infectious and everyone I see is smiling at the finish line. They have beer at the end haha and there is a Dunkin Donuts really close to the finish line too! The only thing is that it’s usually 60 degrees or so, so make sure you’re used to hydrating and bring lots of throwaway layers!
I love Running Warehouse- my husband got his most recent running shoes from them, and I think that’s where I’m ordering my Zensah calf sleeves from. You can usually find nice discount codes for the site too.
I love using a splash of eggnog in my coffee! You have just reminded me of that. I guess it’s about that time (even though we don’t have snow yet here in NJ). I also just saw in the Trader Joes mailer that they have LIGHT egg nog. I’m going to have to pick some up to try. I will feel better about pouring light egg nog in my coffee than the full fat stuff.
Half a bottle of champagne sounds like such a wonderful treat š It’s been awhile since I had any!
Hope you have a wonderful day!
I love a good deal too. We are going shopping now and I hope I find many!
Wow what a deal. I need new running shoes also. I will have to check it out.
Oooh, eggnog flavored coffee sounds great! Where did you buy it? š
That is a GREAT deal! I just bought new shoes (and like you, I bought the same exact ones…just in a different color!). I will definitely checkout that website next time!
I love finding a bargain! Love the shoes!
I had the 759’s and they gave me plantar fasciitis! š I never had any problems before these shoes, either!
That deal is incredible! Thanks for sharing. I’m bookmarking the site right now.
That is a good deal. I’ve always liked New Balance, though I’ve been wearing Saucony recently.
OMG this post was too funny … the pictures of Murphy staring at his kindling stick and Mal’s face in that picture had me cracking up.
@Shannon:
Boo I meant this comment for your post from last night!
Score on the shoes! Running is a pretty cheap hobby but it’s still nice to get a good deal š
@Erika @ FoodFitnessFun: Just click on the link! š
This looks like a great website. I live overseas and have a really hard time finding the things I need at a price I’m willing to order online. I hate ordering stuff I’m not sure about online then getting it, not liking it and shipping it back. Unless of course, it’s cheap enough to be worth it.
Thanks for sharing!
definitely checking out that website for sneakers! perfect timing since i need a new pair
That is a good deal! I love being able to find new places to shop like that through the power of others’ knowledge/sharing. Gotta love social media!
Hi Tina,
I am a fairly new reader (learned of you through Kath’s blog) and just wanted to congratulate you on your run! That is amazing, and a marathon will be no biggie after 18 miles. ( BTW I totally laughed that you got lost, since I am sure I would have as well. ;)) I am from LA, but went to college in Amherst and Boston, and now live in DC, so I really enjoy hearing about Boston!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Sweet deal! I love finding good deals on the Internet… š
Did you have a promotional code for a better price on the shoes? They are the same price on running warehouse as they are on zappos.
Thanks for the tip on Running Warehouse!!!
@Christianne: No. I think I’m confused about your question.
I love finding good deals!! It makes me feel like a shopping ninja or something, lol.
love a good deal too. i scored a pair of uber comfy pj’s at macy’s for less than $20 – every where i’ve looked has been at least $50 + for the same thing
oh yummo -those pumpkin oats look mighty tasty!
Wow, score on the new kicks!
Hey Tina,
Did you have a special code to get the free shirt with the shoes you ordered? Thanks for sharing that site! Can’t believe I spent $30 more than I had to on my latest pair of sneakers… I will definitely be using RunningWarehouse.com next time! š
@Erin: Nope, it was just an option at check-out! š
Woo hoo for online savings!! Thanks for the heads up about Running Wearhouse. I’ve never heard of them but I’m been busy looking through their site and I better stop soon because my Christmas list is too long and my school paper too short… š
thanks for the plug Tina ha! I love love running warehouse, I get shoes from there b/c not only is it free shipping but free returns if you don’t like them. I also get my GU and other running gadgets from there. Glad I could help you out!

I love great deals! I’ll have to check out that website out! Congrats on the 18 miler by the way. I cannot even imagine running that far!
What an awesome start to your day! Hurrah!
