Boy, do I have a fun recipe for you today! June is full of birthday celebrations in the Haupert household: Quinn, Murphy, and me! 😉 So, naturally, it also includes our fair share of cake! Specifically, Gluten-Free Funfetti Mug Cake! Oh, yes!

We are all fans of Funfetti cake, so I couldn’t help but use our favorite store-bought cake mix for a gluten-free mug cake recipe. If you need a super fast and easy dessert to celebrate a special occasion, this is it. We typically have all of the ingredients in our panty (there are only 3 total), so it’s easy to whip up in a pinch.

We often top our Gluten-Free Funfetti Mug Cakes with whipped cream, but a scoop of ice cream would be delicious, too! I can’t wait to celebrate our birthdays with mug cakes all month long!

Gluten-Free Funfetti Mug Cake

This gluten-free Funfetti mug cake is a fun way to celebrate any special occasion… and best yet, it only requires 2 ingredients and a couple of minutes in the microwave. Dairy-free, egg-free.


  • 48g gluten-free Funfetti mix
  • 1 Tablespoon ground flaxseed
  • 1/3 cup water
  • rainbow sprinkles (optional)


  1. Combine ingredients in a microwave-safe mug.
  2. Allow mixture to sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Then, microwave for 90 seconds. Allow to cool slightly.
  4. Top with sprinkles, grab a spoon and dig in!
